摘要： A method of percutaneously delivering a multi-layered stent assembly to a desired implantation location of a patient including the steps of radially compressing a multi-layered stent assembly to a compressed size for implantation in a patient, the multi-layered stent assembly including a first stent (52), a second stent (54) coaxially positioned within at least a portion of a length of the first stent, and a valve, wherein the first stent comprises at least one different material property than the second stent. The method further includes delivering the multi-layered stent assembly to the desired implantation location of the patient using a delivery system and substantially simultaneously expanding the first stent and the second stent of the multi-layered stent assembly at the desired implantation location to a radially expanded size that is larger than the compressed size.

摘要： Heart pacing systems include at least one electronic or biological pacemaker as a primary pacemaker, and at least one electronic or biological pacemaker as a backup pacemaker. When implanted, the primary pacemaker(s) produce primary pacing stimuli that modulate cardiac function. The backup pacemaker(s) provide backup pacing stimuli when the electronic pacemaker is unable to modulate cardiac function at the predetermined pacing rate. The heart pacing systems are implemented by implantation in regions where they can provide pacing stimuli to cardiac tissue.

摘要： A medical electrical lead provided with a generally isodiametric lead body. The lead body includes a first elongated plastic tube and an elongated conductor mounted in the first plastic tube. A first coil electrode is mounted exterior to and around the outer surface of the first tube and is coupled to the conductor. A second elongated plastic tube having an outer diameter approximately equal to the outer diameter of the first coil electrode, is mounted exterior to and around the outer surface of the first tube adjacent the first coil electrode and extends proximally therefrom. A second coil electrode having an outer diameter approximately equal to the outer diameter of the first coil electrode may be mounted exterior to and around the first tube proximal to the first coil electrode such that the second elongated plastic tube extends to a point adjacent the second coil electrode. A third elongated plastic tube having an outer diameter approximately equal to the outer diameter of the second coil electrode may be mounted exterior to the first tube adjacent the second coil electrode and extending proximally therefrom. In a preferred embodiment, the first tube is an extruded multi-lumen tube.

摘要： A method for closing an opening at a target site including bodily tissue including embedding a plurality of self-closing clips into the target site in a spaced apart manner about a perimeter of the opening. Each of the clips has opposing clip ends and an intermediate segment. A flexible tether is coupled to the embedded clips to form a loop about the opening perimeter. A pulling force is applied onto at least one of the loop ends, thereby drawing the perimeter of the opening onto itself to completely close the opening. The loop ends are secured to maintain the target site in a closed state. In some embodiments, the target site is apical cardiac tissue, and the method is performed as part of a trans-apical access procedure.

摘要： A distal tip coupled to a body of an implantable medical device includes a canted passageway extending distally from a lumen of the body and an opening terminating the passageway and positioned in proximity to a distal end of the distal tip; a helical fixation element coupled to an elongated member extending within the lumen of the body is adapted to deflect along the canted passageway of the distal tip.
