    • A power-saving apparatus comprises: a heater; a control unit for detecting at least two power-saving commands, and for outputting a first power-saving control signal and a second power-saving control signal; a power supply unit for supplying rated voltages required for peripheral devices; a power switching circuit for cutting off all rated voltages supplied to the peripheral devices, including the heater but excluding the control unit, when the first power-saving control signal is generated, and for starting the supply of all rated voltages cut off when the second power-saving control signal is generated; and a quick start circuit for supplying, to the heater, a quick start voltage for a certain time period when the start control signal is generated. A power-saving method comprises performing a power-saving mode by cutting off the voltages supplied to the peripheral devices when the power-saving control signal or command is received, determining whether a recovery command is detected, and recovering to a normal mode when a recovery command is detected.

    • A circuit for stabilizing a screen voltage of the video display apparatus is capable of supplying a uniform screen voltage to the video display apparatus even though a voltage level of an output voltage from a flyback transformer is changed. A horizontal output section generates a horizontal output voltage in response to a horizontal driving signal. A flyback transformer supplies a first power source to a primary winding according to the horizontal output voltage, induces a voltage in a secondary winding thereof based on a turns-ratio, and induces a voltage in a tertiary winding thereof according to the voltage induced in the secondary winding. A screen voltage generator receives a second power source and a pulse width modulation signal, controls the voltage induced in the tertiary winding of the flyback transformer to maintain a uniform voltage level by selectively outputting the second power source in response to the pulse width modulation signal, and outputs the voltage induced in the tertiary winding as a screen voltage. Accordingly, the invention is able to prevent the brightness and quality of the screen of the video display apparatus from deteriorating.

A primary coil is wound around a center leg of the first E-shaped core and a secondary coil is wound around a center leg of the second E-shaped core. A magnetic flux generated from the primary coil is cut due to the magnetic resistance characteristics of the I-shaped core to vary the inductance of the secondary coil, to thereby form enclosed loops of magnetic flux inside the first and second E-shaped cores, respectively.
