    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight thumbtack driver which can continuously drive thumbtacks into a board or the like by extruding the thumbtack forward from a magazine by a spring and depressing a handle part.
      SOLUTION: This thumbtack driver comprises a holder which accommodates a magazine capable of being refilled with a string of the thumbtacks, in a freely detachable manner; an extruder with a spring part composed of an extrusion piece fitted to a sliding plate so as to allow the forward extrusion of the thumbtacks one by one; and a forcing device with a forcing rod, for driving the thumbtack into the board or the like, which is attached to the tip part fixed to the holder in a freely opening way.

    • According to one aspect of the present invention, a drying device which dries a coating film formed on a substrate with hot air, including an infrared radiator which heats the coating film at a temperature equal to or lower than the temperature of the hot air is provided. The hot air drying device includes the infrared radiator which heats the coating film. Accordingly, the temperature of the coating film in the initial drying stage can be quickly raised by the infrared radiator in comparison with a case in which the coating film is dried only with the hot air. Also, since the infrared radiator heats the coating film at a temperature equal to or lower than the hot air temperature, there is no risk of reducing the quality of the coating film by overheating the coating film. Accordingly, energy consumption can be reduced, and the drying speed can be increased. Any member may be used as the infrared radiator as long as the member can radiate infrared rays to heat the coating film at a low temperature equal to or lower than the hot air temperature. For example, a panel infrared heater may be employed.

    • The present invention provides a method for applying a coating solution by discharging a coating solution from a slit provided at a tip of a slot-die toward a surface of a web fitted onto a backup roller, the method comprising: a stand-by step of staying the slot-die at a stand-by position having a larger clearance between the slot-die and the web than that of a standard coating process; and a two-stage moving operation including a first moving step in which the slot die is moved to a coating initiation position having a smaller clearance than that of the standard coating process to initiate application of a coating solution, and a second moving step in which the slot die is moved away from the coating initiation position to a standard coating position having the clearance of the standard coating process to perform constant application of the coating solution.
