摘要： Dialysis systems comprising actuators that cooperate to perform dialysis functions and sensors that cooperate to monitor dialysis functions are disclosed. According to one aspect, such a hemodialysis system comprises a user interface model layer, a therapy layer, below the user interface model layer, and a machine layer below the therapy layer. The user interface model layer is configured to manage the state of a graphical user interface and receive inputs from a graphical user interface. The therapy layer is configured to run state machines that generate therapy commands based at least in part on the inputs from the graphical user interface. The machine layer is configured to provide commands for the actuators based on the therapy commands.

摘要： Systems and methods for providing for the automatic instrument-based rapid reprocessing of an intact extracorporeal circuit (14) for use in hemodialysis. The system includes a manifold (56) with connectors (60, 62) for engaging a dialyzer (10) as well as venous and arterial blood lines. The manifold (56) is adapted to be moved from a dialysis machine (66) to a reuse instrument (72) without removing the dialyzer (10) and associated blood lines. The system allows for reprocessing of the extracorporeal circuit (14) wherein prior to the next treatment, there is no residual chemical disinfectant requiring testing, the extracorporeal circuit (14) is pre-primed, the levels in the bubble traps are set, and all of the required quality assurance tests are performed and recorded.

摘要： The present invention constitutes batch quantity dialysate formulations that are suitable for use in preparing a batch quantity of dialysate solution. The dialysate chemical formulations for one batch of dialysate comprise a liquid acid concentrate unit stored in a first vessel, and a dry bicarbonate unit stored in a second vessel. The contents of the first and second vessels are emptied into a dialysate preparation tank and mixed with water to form a batch quantity of dialysate solution. In a preferred embodiment, the liquid acid concentrate comprises (a) about 79.244-158.489 g/L of sodium chloride; (b) between about 0 and about 40.441 g/L of potassium chloride; (c) about 34.888 g/L of calcium chloride dihydrate; (d) between about 6.893 and about 20.680 g/L magnesium chloride hexahydrate; (e) about 339.00 g of dextrose; (f) about 36.643 g/L of acetic acid; and (g) water in sufficient amount to bring up to about 290-440 mL final volume. In a preferred embodiment, the dry bicarbonate unit contains between about 271.6 and about 358.4 g of sodium chloride; and between about 143.5-204.7 g of sodium bicarbonate.

摘要： A water purification system comprising a cross-flow filter is arranged to permit recirculation of the retentate or reject water from the retentate outlet of the filter to the inlet of the filter. A first pump is configured to pump source water into the feed water path of the filter, and to raise the fluid pressure in the feed water path and recirculation path to a level at which the cross-flow filter can produce filtered water or permeate at the outlet of the filter. A second pump is configured to recircualte water from the retentate outlet of the filter to the inlet of the filter at a flow rate substantially higher than the flow rate of water generated by the first pump. A drain path connected to the recirculation path or feed water path may include a flow restrictor to permit removal of highly concentrated reject water while maintaining a minimum fluid pressure within the recirculation flowpath.

摘要： A device and method to constrict or occlude the lumen of a flexible tube (20) may include an occluder under the influence of an elastic force (140), such as a spring force, that can compress a portion of the wall of the flexible tube. The occluder can be under the influence of the elastic force, but prevented from occluding the tube by a stop (151), 1 he stop can be connected to a tube gripping feature, so that a pulling force on the tube near the gripping feature can disengage the stop from the occluder, releasing the occluder to compress the tube. In some embodiments, the pulling force applied to the tube causes movement of the gripping feature by taking up slack in a portion of the tube held in the device. In other embodiments, the pulling force applied to the tube causes the tube to stretch elastically near the gripping feature, causing the gripping feature to move, and disengaging the stop from the occluder.
