    • A computer-implemented method includes receiving a document and a request to translate the document to a different language, the document including at least one tag associated with a first portion of text within the document, receiving a manual translation of the document translated by a human translator but not including the at least one tag, generating a plurality of alignments between the document and the manual translation using a statistical alignment model, selecting one of the plurality of alignments based on a likelihood that the first portion of text in the document corresponds to an aligned second portion of text within the manual translation, mapping a location of the tag in the document to a corresponding location within the manual translation based on the selected alignment, and inserting the at least one tag into the manual translation at the corresponding location to obtain a modified manual translation of the document.

    • Many websites publish variants of their web pages based on language and region. However, when a user is directed toward the incorrect web page for the user's language preference, it there is not a simple way for the user to select the appropriate localized or region specific version of the web page. According to an embodiment, a language preference from a user may be received. A first language for a first web page may be identified and the first web page may be received by a computing device of the user. A second language for a second web page may be identified. The second web page may comprise an alternate version of the first web page. The first web page or the second web page may be selected according to the language preference of the user and the selected web page may be presented to the user.

The user interface webpage includes a text input portion, a translated text output portion, a source language selection portion, and a target language selection portion. The source language selection portion includes a quick source language selection icon identifying a potential source language, and a source language selection list including a plurality of potential source languages. The target language selection portion includes a quick target language selection icon identifying a potential target language, and a target language selection list including a plurality of potential target languages. The potential source language and the potential target language is determined based on a stored history of a user, which includes at least one of preferences of the user, source languages previously selected by the user, and target languages previously selected by the user.

    • The present disclosure describes a teleconferencing system that may use a virtual participant processor to translate language content of the teleconference into each participant's spoken language without additional user inputs. The virtual participant processor may connect to the teleconference as do the other participants. The virtual participant processor may intercept all text or audio data that was previously exchanged between the participants may now be intercepted by the virtual participant processor. Upon obtaining a partial or complete language recognition result or making a language preference determination, the virtual participant processor may call a translation engine appropriate for each of the participants. The virtual participant processor may send the resulting translation to a teleconference management processor. The teleconference management processor may deliver the respective translated text or audio data to the appropriate participant.
