    • The device for channeling out upright containers from a first transport device, which moves the container in a transport direction, includes a lateral guide section, which extends in the transport direction, and a gripper unit, which has a plurality of grippers for gripping the containers. The lateral guide section and the gripper unit are moved from a pickup position for the containers jointly in a direction transverse to the transport direction. After this joint movement the gripper unit is moved towards a discharge position for the containers. The lateral guide section and the gripper unit are then moved back to the pickup position.

    • The device for sealing containers comprises a container feeding device for an intermittent feed of containers in a transport direction, a cap feeding device having a plurality of cap gripper units; and a capping device movable in and opposite to a lowering direction. The capping device has a plurality of capping units corresponding to the plurality of cap gripper units in the cap feeding device. Each capping unit has a screwing-on mechanism at one end. Each screwing-on mechanism is adapted to pick up a cap and to seal the container with the cap in a lowered position of the capping device. The capping device and the plurality of cap gripper units of the cap feeding device are configured and arranged such that the plurality of cap gripper units of the cap feeding device are positively guided in the lowering direction.

The method includes providing a plurality of positively guided containers in a row, one-by-one, wherein the containers have a uniform second spacing from each other, wherein the first spacing of the individual filling units is a whole-number multiple of the second spacing of the containers, and filling a predetermined number of the containers simultaneously at the filling units. The containers are shifted in cycles along the filling units in a transport direction by a step length, which is a whole-number multiple of the second spacing of the containers and which is shorter than a third spacing between a first filling unit and a last filling unit steps of filling and shifting are repeated over a predetermined number of iterations.
