    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to cut one and the same kind of male threads in both ends of a rod, suitably for a mass production, by forming male threaded parts each having a total length which is the sum of the lengths of both end male threaded parts of each rod, at uniform intervals in a long length rod which is intermittently fed out by a predetermined length, and then by severing each threaded part at its middle. CONSTITUTION:A male threaded part 2 having a total length which is the sum of the lengths of male threaded parts 3A, 3B to be formed in both end parts of a rod member 4 is formed in a long length rod 1 which is intermittently fed out successively by a predetermined length L, in the vicinity of the front end of the fed-out rod 1 by means of a thread-cutting tool 5. After a groove-like chamfered part 7 is formed at the outer periphery of a predetermined position in the middle of the total length male threaded part 2 with the use of a chamfering tool 6, the threaded part 2 is severed into two male threaded parts 3A, 3B at the chamfered part 7 with the use of a separately provided severing tool 8 so that the rod member 4 having a predetermined length L and having its both end parts formed therein with the male threaded parts 3A, 3B, is obtained. With this arrangement, rod members having both threaded end parts are continuously obtained to enhance the productivity to facilitate a complete automatization of a working process.
