    • The present invention relates to a detection values correction apparatus for correcting detection values of a projection image of a multi-energy imaging system. A scatter contribution providing unit provides scatter contributions for different intensities, different energies and different locations on the detection surface of the detection values. A scatter contributions combining unit combines scatter contributions for correcting a detection value, wherein the combined scatter contributions represent the contribution of the scatter, which is caused by radiation of the other detection values of the projection image, to the detection value to be corrected and wherein the scatter contributions are combined under consideration of the intensity, energy and location on the detection surface of the other detection values. A correction unit scatter corrects the detection value of the projection image by using the combined scatter contributions.

    • The invention relates to an X-ray detector (1) with an array (2) of sensor elements (21), wherein each row (i) of sensor elements is connected via an addressing line to an addressing unit (5), and wherein each column j) of sensor elements is connected via a read-out line to a read-out unit (3). In the read-out unit (3), sensor signals are preprocessed, for example amplified by amplifiers (31). The detector further comprises a control unit (6) which is adapted to set the gains of said amplifiers (31) for each column (j) and each row (i) individually. The values of the gains may particularly be derived from a priori knowledge, from previous images of the object, or from the image signals of rows that have already been read out.

    • A method, a computer program as well as a corresponding apparatus for eliminating scatter artefacts that corrupt an image of an object using computed tomography, wherein X-ray projections of the object are at least partially truncated, whereas the method comprises the steps of: reconstructing a truncated image of the object with a limited field of view from the projections; constructing a model of the object in an extended field of view using the truncated image of the object; deriving a scatter estimate by means of Monte-Carlo simulation using the model of object; correcting a projection of the object for X-ray scatter based on the scatter estimate; reconstructing a scatter-corrected image using the corrected projections.
