摘要： A display apparatus includes a display panel, a timing controller and a data driver. The display panel includes a plurality of unit pixels respectively including a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel. The timing controller includes a first compensation unit which receives grayscale data corresponding to the unit pixels and generates first compensation data of the grayscale data using offset values of first sample compensation data sampled from a first gamma curve. The data driver includes a second compensation unit which generates second compensation data of the grayscale data using second sample compensation data sampled from a second gamma curve and the first compensation data. Accordingly, the first and second compensation data comprise color compensation data, which improve image quality. A method for driving the display panel of the display apparatus is also provided.

摘要： A method for improving a misalignment of a printed circuit board and a liquid crystal display device with the printed circuit board are disclosed. A printed circuit board having a substrate and PCB lands formed at a portion of the substrate in the horizontal direction is provided and a tape carrier package having TCP leads corresponding to the PCB lands is also provided. The intervals among the PCB lands are amended by the thermal expansion amount of the substrate. After the printed circuit board and the tape carrier package are aligned, the printed circuit board and the tape carrier package are connected to each other by the thermo-compression bonding process. The misalignment due to the thermo-compression bonding process can be improved, decreasing the processing failures and increasing the productivity.

摘要： A display apparatus includes light source blocks driven as follows in displaying at least one frame (possibly every frame). An image to be displayed includes image pixels. Each light source block corresponds to an image pixels block which is a block of image pixels to be displayed directly opposite to the light source block. For each image pixels block, a block mean value and a block maximum value are determined. A parameter is determined which corresponds to a total luminance of the frame. For each image pixels block, a block representative value is determined which corresponds to the parameter, the block representative value being within a range between the block mean value and the block maximum value inclusive. During the frame, each light source block is driven to provide a luminance which is an increasing function of the corresponding block representative value.

摘要： A method for generating data for driving a display panel is provided in which first compensation data of (N+k) bits, corresponding to grayscale data of N bits, is generated, wherein values of N and k are natural numbers. A first gamma curve is applied to the first compensation data of (N+k) bits. Second compensation data of (N+k) bits, corresponding to the grayscale data of N bits, is generated. A second gamma curve is applied to the second compensation data of (N+k) bits. The first compensation data or the second compensation data are selectively output and converted into analog data signals. The analog data signals are output to a data line. Accordingly, the first compensation data and second compensation data includes a multidomain structure which improves display quality. A data driving circuit and a display device including the data driving circuit for performing the method are also provided.
