    • A step includes a support member extending from a vehicle frame. A first wire rod frame extends from the distal end of the support member to the vehicle frame. A second wire rod frame suspends the first frame from the vehicle frame. Furthermore, a foot board is disposed over the first frame and the support member. The step structure is of high flexibility. The step is capable of flexibly handling loads applied from the ground, and is prevented from being plastically deformed by loads applied from the ground. The first and second frames are made of wire rods. Accordingly, the step structure is made lightweight. As a consequence, the vehicle is made lightweight.

    • An engine arrangement structure of a saddle-ride type vehicle includes an engine having a crankcase and a cylinder part overhung upwardly from the crankcase. An alternating current generator is provided at one end of the crankshaft with a power transmission system member being provided at the other end thereof. The alternating current generator and the power transmission system member are overhung ahead of and behind the engine relative to the engine cylinder part, respectively. A width by which the power transmission system member is overhung is larger than that by which the alternating current generator is overhung. The alternating current generator of the engine is arranged so as to be directed to the front side of the vehicle body and the power transmission system member is arranged so as to be directed to the rear side of the vehicle body.

    • A brake lever conjunctive switch is provided which is capable of making the operating timings of a pair of switches different while minimizing changes in the shape of a switch box. The brake lever conjunctive switch includes a switch box to which a brake lever is pivotally attached. A pair of switches are mounted in the switch box. The switches are disposed in parallel along the axial direction of pivoting of the brake lever. The brake lever is provided with a first contact member for operating one of the switches when the brake lever is turned by a predetermined angle. The brake lever is further provided with a second contact member located on the pivot shaft of the brake lever for operating the other of the switches by being oscillated by the brake lever when the brake lever is pivoted by not less than the predetermined angle.
