    • A diazo heat-sensitive recording material containing a support having provided thereon a recording layer containing a diazo compound, a coupler, and an organic base, wherein the diazo compound is a compound represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents --C(Z.sub.1)(Z.sub.2)--CH.sub.2 --A, --CH.sub.2 --C(Z.sub.1)(Z.sub.2)--A or --{C(Z.sub.1)(Z.sub.2)}.sub.m --A,wherein Z.sub.1 represents an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group; Z.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group; A represents a halogen atom, an acyl group, a cyano group, or a group containing at least one oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus or sulfur atom through which A is bonded to --CH.sub.2 -- or Z.sub.2 ; and m represents an integer of 1 to 5;R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, which may be the same or different, each represent an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be connected together via A to form a ring; and X represents an acid anion,and the coupler is a compound having at least 20 carbon atoms in total, represented by formula (II): ##STR2## wherein Y.sub.1 and Y.sub.2, which may be the same or different, each represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, or an aryl group. The diazo heat-sensitive recording material of the present invention exhibits excellent raw stock aging stability before recording and excellent image stability, especially light fastness, after recording.

    • A multi-color heat-sensitive recording material is disclosed which comprises a support having laminated thereon in the following order a first heat-sensitive color forming layer comprising mainly an electron donating dye precursor and an electron accepting compound, a second heat-sensitive color forming layer containing a diazonium salt compound having a maximum absorption wavelength of 360.+-.20 nm and a coupler capable of reacting with the diazonium salt compound by heating to form color and a third heat-sensitive color forming layer containing a diazonium salt compound represented by formula (I) having a maximum absorption wavelength of 400.+-.20 nm and a coupler represented by formula (II) capable of reacting with the diazonium salt compound by heating to form color: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group; Y represents a halogen atom, an acyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group or a sulfamoyl group; and X.sub.1.sup.- represents a counter anion: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.3 represents an alkyl group or an aryl group; R.sub.4 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group; R.sub.5 represents an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an aralkyloxy group, an alkylthio group, an arylthio group, an aralkylthio group or a halogen atom; and n represents 0 or an integer of 1 to 4.

    • The present invention provides a heat-sensitive recording material comprising a substrate; and at least two heat-sensitive recording layers provided on the substrate, the heat-sensitive recording layers including microcapsules encapsulating an electron-donating dye precursor, and an electron-accepting compound, which reacts with the electron-donating dye precursor to develop a color and is disposed outside of the microcapsules, wherein the microcapsules include at least two kinds of microcapsules having different glass transition temperatures. A difference between each of the glass transition temperatures of the at least two microcapsules having different glass transition temperatures is preferably in a range from 20° C. to 70° C. According to the invention, a heat-sensitive recording material, which is superior in the reproduction of the gradation of an image and enables recording at high density, is obtained.

    • The present invention provides a heat-sensitive recording material including a support having disposed thereon a heat-sensitive recording layer containing microcapsules in which an electron-donating dye precursor is encapsulated and outside which an electron-accepting compound is present, the electron-donating dye precursor being capable of reacting with the electron-accepting compound to develop color, wherein the microcapsules include at least two kinds of microcapsules having mutually different volume average particle diameters or different glass transition temperatures. A difference between each of the glass transition temperatures of the at least two microcapsules having different glass transition temperatures is preferably in a range from 20° C. to 70° C. According to the invention, a heat-sensitive recording material, which is superior in the reproduction of the gradation of an image and enables recording at high density, is obtained.
