    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an assisting food and a food additive using bone of eel as raw material suppressing offensive smell caused to bone marrow in raw bone of an eel, without using facilities for mincing, high pressure/high temperature processing. SOLUTION: This method for producing the assisting food and the food additive subjects the raw bone collected from the eel to washing processes (1, 3, 5, 7) by water, a heating and agitating process (2) in aqueous solution of sodium chloride, heating and agitating processes in water (4, 6), and a process treating with far-infrared ray (8), a grinding process (9), a sieving process (10) and a wrapping process (11), and the powdered bone includes 3 wt.% of the bone marrow.

    • First and second oil flow passages are defined in a wall portion of a transmission casing. The first oil flow passage has an open end exposed to an interior of the casing. The second oil passage is connected to the first oil passage through a connection opening defined by the first oil passage. A separate pipe member has a predetermined end portion that is inserted into the first oil passage from the open end of the same. The predetermined end portion comprises a cylindrical portion having a fixed length; an end opening defined by an end of the cylindrical portion and exposed to the first oil passage; and an orifice opening defined by a side wall of the cylindrical portion. The orifice opening is blocked by an inner wall of the first oil passage when the connection opening takes a first position relative to the open end of the first oil passage, and exposed to the second oil passage when the connection opening takes a second position relative to the open end of the first oil passage. The second position is closer to the open end of the first oil passage than the first position is.

    • In an automatic transmission, an arrangement for discharging band servo operating hydraulic pressure comprises an upstanding passage and a communication passage formed in a transmission case, and a discharge valve installed in the communication passage. The upstanding passage is so formed as to extend inwardly or upwardly from a control valve body joining surface of the transmission case. The communication passage is so formed as to extend inwardly from an outer peripheral portion of the transmission case adjacent an oil pump cover joining surface thereof to fluidly connect a servo cylinder chamber to the upstanding passage which is in turn fluidly connected to a servo release passage of a control valve assembly. The discharge valve is in the form of a check valve and disposed in the open end of the communication passage which is located at the above described peripheral portion of the transmission case adjacent the oil pump cover joining surface thereof.

    • A governor shaft for supporting a governor valve is rotatably supported to a transmission case by a stopper pin. The governor shaft is formed with an annular groove having a rectangular cross section. The stopper pin is inserted through the transmission case, and engaged with the annular groove of the governor shaft for preventing the governor shaft from being extracted and allowing the rotation of the governor shaft. The stopper pin has two cylindrical portions and a middle portion lying between the cylindrical portions. The middle portion is received in the annular groove, and the cylindrical portions are supported by the transmission case. In one embodiment of the present invention, the middle portion has a square cross section, so that the stopper pin tends to be in face contact with the annular groove. The cylindrical portions are arranged to allow the stopper pin to rotate to a limited extent.
