    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-liquid separator in which no clogging in filtrate discharging slits is caused, whose maintenance is easy, which has superior durability, and whose running cost is low.
      SOLUTION: A lot of outer rings 21 and inner rings 22 are alternately arranged around a screw conveyer 3 so as to surround the conveyer 3 rotatably disposed, by providing specified spaces to form the filtrate discharge slits 2a between the respective rings 21 and 22. The outer rings 21 and inner rings 22 are integrally connected respectively, and are connected to driving mechanisms 7, 8, to make the outer rings 21 and inner rings 22 reciprocatingly turn in a reverse direction to each other. By this configuration, water in sludge transferred by the screw conveyer 3 is continuously discharged through the slits 2a to the outside, shearing force is applied to solid intruded into the slits 2a, the solid is not retained inside, and clogging is not caused.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pH reduction method for a secondary treated water of sewage which reduces the treatment cost for pH reduction of the secondary treated water, and improves safety in treatment operation therefor. SOLUTION: The secondary treated water of sewage is aerated with a carbon dioxide-containing gas, so that carbon dioxide in the gas is dissolved in the water. Thereby, the concentration of hydrogen ion (H + ) in the secondary treated water of the sewage is increased to reduce the pH of the secondary treated water. As a result, the pH of the secondary treated water of the sewage can be reduced by the carbon dioxide-containing gas without using a pH adjuster such as sulfuric acid used in conventional methods, which enables reduction of the equipment cost for pH reduction treatment and of the running cost, and improves the safety of the treatment operation. Though the water to be treated has high phosphorus concentration and the circulation water has high Ca concentration and pH, the phosphorus in the water to be treated is crystallized on the surface of the seed crystal since they are mixed in the presence of the seed crystal. As a result, the amount of the agglomerated calcium phosphate to be generated can be reduced without altering the flow rate ratio of the circulation water/the water to be treated.

When the sludge is introduced into the drying containers 7, 8, the sludge is shaped into a plurality of cords by a cord-like cake shaper. Then the sludge is heated while being conveyed in the drying containers 7, 8 decompressed in advance, whereby the percentage of water content of the sludge is lowered to approximately 40 %.
