摘要： The present invention. is generally related to an apparatus having cutter elements (20) for destroying- articles such as paper sheets and a mechanism (23) for advancing at least a top sheet from a stack of paper in a tray (14) into the cutter elements for shredding. In one embodiment, the apparatus uses a rotatable' feed roller (24) to feed paper atop the stack to the cutter elements. The feed roller moves in an alternating manner between a lowered and raised position to engage and disengage the stack when advancing the paper therethrough. Alternatively, a rotatable cam (72) may be used. In an embodiment, the apparatus uses a rotatable drum (40) or rotatable belt (82) with an internal vacuum to lift paper from the stack and feed into the shredder mechanism.

摘要： The present invention is an air purifier including an ionizing assembly that operates to charge particulate material in an air flow passing through the purifier. The charged particulate material is attracted to and retained by a filter element disposed downstream of the ionization assembly and having an electrical charge opposite to the charged particulate material. The purified air passing through the filter is directed out of the device, optionally in conjunction with a fragrance that is added to the purified air flow. The ionizing assembly is formed with a ground member disposed adjacent the ionizing member to keep the electrons generated by the ionizing assembly within the purifier, and thus prevent static discharges from occurring outside of the purifier. The air flow is directed by a fan through the purifier in an angular and substantially laminar manner, such that the efficiency of the purifier is increased.

摘要： Illuminated, decorative light objects are disclosed that provide at least one aesthetic lighting display or light show, and to a user interface for the same. A disclosed decorative light object includes a translucent housing (102) . The housing (102) has a bottom opening leading into a cavity. The object also includes a base assembly (104) that covers the bottom opening (108) of the housing (102) . The base assembly (104) includes a user interface. The user interface includes light show circuitry, memory for storing a plurality of light shows, switches or buttons (150) for recalling the light shows from the memory and at least one light group comprising red, green and blue lights. The switches (126,130) of the user interface are supported in the bottom opening (108) . The light show circuitry, memory and lights are supported within the cavity (106) . Preferably, a translucent light pipe (119) with a roughened lambertian outer surface covers and hides the circuitry and the lights. As the light shines through the light pipe (119) it is diffused thereby creating a warm glowing appearance .
