摘要： The present invention. is generally related to an apparatus having cutter elements (20) for destroying- articles such as paper sheets and a mechanism (23) for advancing at least a top sheet from a stack of paper in a tray (14) into the cutter elements for shredding. In one embodiment, the apparatus uses a rotatable' feed roller (24) to feed paper atop the stack to the cutter elements. The feed roller moves in an alternating manner between a lowered and raised position to engage and disengage the stack when advancing the paper therethrough. Alternatively, a rotatable cam (72) may be used. In an embodiment, the apparatus uses a rotatable drum (40) or rotatable belt (82) with an internal vacuum to lift paper from the stack and feed into the shredder mechanism.

摘要： A portable carrier includes a base housing and a cover member secured to the base housing. The base housing is provided with an internal cavity defined by a bottom wall and an enclosing wall extending substantially upwardly from the bottom wall. The cover member is adapted for selectively reconfiguring the portable carrier between a first, closed position preventing access to the internal cavity and a second, open position providing access to the internal cavity. The cover member is dimensioned to closely conform an outer peripheral surface of the base housing so that in the second position the cover member is nested under the base housing over and around the outer peripheral surface thereof. The portable carrier further includes a child-resistant locking device provided for preventing the portable carrier from being open.
