    • A paraffin bath apparatus for melting paraffin used in therapeutic applications is disclosed. The paraffin bath apparatus comprises a housing having a base, a sidewall and upper opening. An inner tub is formed of a temperature resistant polymeric material is a generally cup shaped member having a bottom wall, an upstanding wall and an open top. The inner tub is received within the upper opening of the housing with the bottom wall of the inner tub overlying the base of the housing. The heating element is located between the inner tub and the housing for providing heat to the inner tub sufficient to melt the paraffin but below the temperature that would adversely affect the polymeric material forming inner tub. A thermostatic sensor is disposed between the inner tub and the housing and is electrically connected to the heating element to control the heat provided to the inner tub. A temperature indicating element may be provided in the inner tub and placed in contact with paraffin melted in the inner tub. The temperature indicating element provides a visual indication that the paraffin in the tub is within a predetermined temperature range and is visible through the melted paraffin.

    • An apparatus for heating water is provided having a water receptacle including a bottom wall and side walls for containing a volume of water therein to be heated. The bottom wall of the receptacle has an exterior surface and an interior surface proximate the volume of water to be heated. The water is heated by a heater contained within the water receptacle and secured to the interior surface of the bottom wall of the receptacle by a securement pin which extends through the bottom wall and is threadably engaged with the heater. The heater is elevated from the interior surface of the water receptacle by a collar of high insulation material which is received within a peripheral groove portion of the heater such that the tightening of the securement pin compresses the rubber collar to create a seal between the heater and the bottom wall of the water receptacle. In addition, the elevating collar serves as a barrier between the heater and the bottom wall such that the heater is not in direct contact with the water receptacle wherein in the event of overheating, the heater does not melt or burn the water receptacle.

    • A sonic cleaner for small articles includes two tanks for receiving a liquid and articles to be cleaned and a base unit having chambers for receiving each tank. A vibratory motion generator attaches to the base unit through an isolating structure. Complementary attachment elements on the vibratory motion generator and each tank form a releasable, rigid connection. When the tank is attached to the vibratory motion generator, liquid in the tank can be agitated. When the releasable, rigid connection is detached, the tank can be removed from the base unit for disposing of liquid in the tank without having to handle the entire sonic cleaner.

    • An infusion beverage brewing system includes a container and an infuser. The infuser is positioned in a liquid, such as hot water, and has an infusing chamber for containing infusible materials, such as tea leaves. A plunger includes a piston with a peripheral seal and flap valves. After a brewing time has elapsed, an individual pushes on an operator to move the piston past a perforated wall portion of the infusing chamber. When the piston reaches a solid wall portion at the bottom of the infusing chamber, the flap valves open to allow liquid to escape. However, small apertures aligned with the flap valves prevent the passage of the infusible material. Consequently the infusible material is isolated from the liquid when the piston reaches a solid bottom wall portion of the infusing chamber.
