摘要： Provided are a method and apparatus for receiving remote control key data in a home network and requesting a server to perform an operation corresponding to the remote control key data. The method includes converting the remote control key data to a code which can be referred to in a web document received from the server, determining an operation corresponding to the code by referring to the web document, and requesting the server to perform the determined operation. Accordingly, even when an item corresponding to a function supported by the server is not displayed on a menu screen, a user receiving a service from the server using a client device in the home network can use the function by instinctively pressing a remote control key corresponding to the function.
