    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for encoding, as chain reaction codes, data which is used in a data communication system at a high speed, security, and a small calculation cost.SOLUTION: The method for encoding the data as the chain reaction codes, comprises a step of generating a set of input signs from input data. Each non-systematic output sign is selected from among alphabets of the non-systematic output signs, and one or a plurality of the non-systematic output signs, which are generated as a function of one or a plurality of the input signs, are generated from the set of the input signs. As a result of this encoding process, an optional subset out of the set of the input signs can be recovered from (i) a predetermined number of the non-systematic output signs or (ii) a combination of (a) an input sign not included in a subset of the input signs to be recovered and (b) one or a plurality of the non-systematic output signs.
