摘要： 125,537. Gray, D. M., Sharp, W., and Donald, B. B. June 21, 1918. Angular bending.-Currugated-iron and other coverings are attached to steel or iron members of structures by means of a hand-tool which comprises a clamp 1 which is secured to a purlin or the like P by means of au adjustable locking clip 2. A metal rod 8 is then passed through holes in the corrugated iron sheet 19 and in front of a bending lever 4 which is formed with a pivot 6 movable in a slot 7 in the clamp 1. A wheel 5 on the lever 4 effects the bending, and white the end of the rod 8 is being bent to fit snugly along the base portion P of the purlin, a pin 9 is fitted in a hole 10 on the clamp to hold the horizontal part of the rod 8 firmly. The shape of the clamp, and form of the locking clip 2 may be varied, and the lever 4 may be mounted on a fixed pivot, or a ratchet connexion may be arranged between the lever 4 and the clamp.

摘要： Polymer-inorganic particle blends are incorporated into structures generally involving interfaces with additional materials that can be used advantageously for forming desirable devices. In some embodiments, the structures are optical structures, and the interfaces are optical interfaces. The different materials at the interface can have differences in index-of-refraction to yield desired optical properties at the interface. In some embodiments, structures are formed with periodic variations in index-of-refraction. In particular, photonic crystals can be formed. Suitable methods can be used to form the desired structures.

摘要： A method and system are provided whereby rights in graphic works such as digital photographs and the like may be registered, and potential infringements of those rights monitored. The method includes storing representations of the works in a computer database together with details of any licensed users of the work, obtaining comparison representations from the internet or other computer network, and comparing the two representations to determine whether a threshold of similarity has been met. If the representations are determined to be similar or identical, the identity of the user of the comparison representation is determined and compared with identity of licensed users. In the event that the user is unlicensed, appropriate action such as alerting the rights owner may be taken.The database may also be used for displaying a portfolio of a rights owner's works, or for granting licences to use registered works.
