摘要： A drainage catheter for draining fluids from an internal body part and a process of using the catheter wherein the catheter is subject to development of encrustations of the fluids being drained. The catheter comprises an outer flexible tubular member with a drainage lumen disposed therein. An inner flexible tubular member is slidably disposed within the outer tubular member. The inner tubular member is positioned in the outer tubular member in a predetermined location relative to the outer tubular member whereby withdrawal of the inner tubular member can cause encrustations to be broken up and removed without withdrawing the catherer from the body part being drained.

摘要： A word processing system is provided having a bidirectional printer with formatting capability. The system includes a word processor having means for outputting a stream of sequential data readable in only one direction. The data comprises blocks of character data representative of the characters to be printed interspersed with blocks of control data representative of the format in which the characters are to be printed; each block of control data has an immediately preceding control block identifier. The bidirectional printer includes means for receiving the stream of sequential data, means for scanning the stream of data and means for inserting a control block identifier at the end of each control block which identifier corresponds to the identifier preceding the control block, whereby the stream of sequential data is made readable in both the forward and reverse directions within the printer.

摘要： Method, product and system alters audio data for a synthesized voice so that when it is produced on a speaker system, it appears to emanate from a spatial position. First, the voice is synthesized into a speech waveform from a set of stored data representative of a text string using standard techniques. The speech waveform is converted into analog signals for a right and left channel. According to the invention, the analog signals to the right and left channels are altered according to position data stored with the text string so that the synthesized voice appears to originate at the apparent spatial position when the analog signals are sent to a speaker system.

摘要： A method and apparatus are disclosed for the audio editing of MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) files. MIDI files make it possible to exchange information such as: musical notes, program changes, expression control and channel information between musical instruments, sequencers, computers, lighting controllers and mixers. MIDI files generally consist of serially listed channel and system messages which include at least program status messages and matching note on and note off messages. The method and apparatus of the present invention may be utilized to ensure the integrity of a source file, a copied or lifted section or a target file by automatically inserting matching note on or note off messages into a file or file section to correct inconsistencies created by such editing. Additionally, program status messages are automatically inserted into source files, copied or lifted sections, or target files to yield results which are consistent with the results which may be obtained by editing digital audio data. Timing information is selectively added or maintained such that MIDI files may be selectively edited without requiring a user to learn a complex MIDI sequencer.

摘要： A technique for producing a sound of a plurality of a selected instrument from a digitized audio sample of the selected instrument. The digitized audio sample of the single selected instrument is stored in a memory. Next, copies of the digitized audio sample are micromanipulated in parallel in a plurality of digital processors corresponding in number to the plurality of the selected instrument. Each of the digital processors processes the digital audio sample in a slightly different time variant manner to produce the effect of a plurality of instruments. The processed digital audio samples are summed into a single digital sample. The summed digital audio sample is converted to an analog signal which is sent to a speaker to produce the sound of the plurality of the selected instrument.
