摘要： Computer methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture therefor, are disclosed for developing a complex-query pattern that is transformed into a region-matching transducer. A corpus-level transducer and the region matching transducer are combined. The combined transducer is applied to a corpus to identify strings therein that satisfy patterns defined in the corpus-level transducer, including the complex-query pattern, with each identified pattern being recorded in a corpus index. The corpus and the corpus index are made available for receiving a query with the query tag for querying the corpus and applying the query using the corpus index to identify locations in the corpus that satisfy the query.

摘要： Techniques are provided to construct and use user-interest sensitive indicators of search results. A set of documents is determined based on one or more search terms. Passages within each selected document are identified based on the search terms. Condensation transformations applied to the passages to preferentially retain elements of the passage based on the search terms and user interest information. The resultant indicator is provides a user-interest sensitive signal of the meaning of the passage.

摘要： An apparatus for processing a substrate on two sides. A substrate has a first edge as a leading edge in a process direction and a first side in a face-up orientation. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises an input pathway for receiving the substrate from a substrate processing station, a station for processing the face-up side of the substrate, a reversion pathway for reverting the substrate and returning the reverted substrate to the input pathway. After reversion, a second side of the substrate is in the face up orientation and the first edge is the leading edge. A merge point merges the reverted substrate into the input pathway for processing the face-up side of the substrate in the print station.

摘要： A processor is provided with a first set of digital information that includes a first structured representation of a document. From the first set of digital information, the processor produces a second set of digital information that includes a second structured representation of the document. The second structured representation is a lossless representation and includes a set of tokens and a set of positions. At least one token in the plurality of tokens has an associated semantic label which may be a character code associated with various font types in the second structured representation of the document. The semantic label may be obtained and stored in the second structured representation of the document by a computer program. The first and second representations may be resolution dependent structured representations and have, respectively, first and second characteristic resolutions. The first representation, but not the second, is provided in digital form to an untrusted recipient. A search for particular content of the second representation, including semantic labels, is requested by the recipient. A highlighted version of the first representation of the document is then provided to the recipient.

The control processor of the present invention include features for controlling access to documents stored therein.

A user that is not viewing the shared data at full scale can thus obtain information about the activities of other users from a small-scale representation. The small-scale representation can indicate the type of activity, the extent or rate of changes in the shared data, the other users viewing the full-scale representation, or can show the shared data in shrunken form, indicating the parts that have been changed. The extent or rate of changes can be indicated with a quantitative indicator such as a gauge.
