According to some embodiments, multiple laser beams (from one or more laser) may be utilized to uniformly heat a splice region including portions of the optical waveguide sections to be spliced, which may have different cross-sectional dimensions. According to some embodiments, the relative distance of the optical waveguide sections and/or the power of the multiple laser beams may be varied during splicing operations.

摘要： Fuel cell stacks and systems with thermal management systems to deliver a liquid heat exchange fluid into thermal communication with the stack and thereafter recycle the stream. In some embodiments, the system is adapted to selectively apportion the recycled liquid stream between a stream that, prior to reuse as a heat exchange stream, is returned to a fluid reservoir and/or selectively cooled, and/or selectively returned to the reservoir and mixed with heat exchange fluid in the reservoir, and a stream that is returned into thermal communication with the stack without returning the stream to the reservoir and/or without heating or cooling and/or without being mixed with additional heat exchange fluid. In some embodiments, the system is adapted to automatically apportion the recycled stream responsive to its temperature. In some embodiments, the system includes a thermostatic valve and/or selectively apportions the recycled stream without requiring an electronic controller or manual input.

Detected partially-completed connection transactions are terminated when they remain in existence for a period of time that exceeds a threshold period of time. 摘要： A supported catalyst is made by preparing a dispersion, contacting the dispersion with a substrate to produce a coating thereon, and firing and, if necessary, reducing to convert the dispersion to a catalytically active coating on the substrate. The catalyst may be useful in the catalysis of reactions for producing methane.The dispersion is made by co-hydrolysis to give an intimate mixture of hydrolysis products (e.g. hydroxides of Ni and Al) convertible by calcining and, if necessary, reduction to produce the catalytically active coating in the form of one or more catalytically active components (e.g. Ni) and one or more ceramic oxides (e.g. Al.sub.2 O.sub.3).
