    • A laryngeal mask includes an airway conduit, and a mask connected to the airway conduit, the mask that includes an inflatable portion. An inflation lumen is coupled to the inflatable portion of the mask as well as an inflation valve. The inflation valve includes an exterior housing that has an exit aperture and a stem that is movable between an open position and a closed position. A vent clip is removably coupled to the inflation valve and includes a body portion, an exterior housing interface portion extending from the body portion and a finger extending from the body portion. The exterior housing interface portion includes a gripping surface which is formed to contact at least an approximately 90 degree portion of the inflation valve exterior housing and the finger maintains the inflation valve in an open position.

    • A serial surge suppression and overload protection optimization device has an input terminal, an output terminal and multiple surge suppression units. The surge suppression units are serially connected between the input terminal and the output terminal. Each surge suppression unit has two parallel inductors and multiple surge absorbing elements. Each surge absorbing element is connected to an output end of one of the parallel inductors and has a fuse serially connected therewith. When surge energy is excessively large, the fuse melts to separate the surge absorbing element from a main power loop without causing a short circuit within the main power loop due to the meltdown of the fuse. The optimization device is used with an automatic overload protection unit to normally supply power to equipment connected to the output terminal thereof and ensure electrical safety protection with a bypass circuit design thereof.

    • A serially connected surge suppression optimization device has an input terminal, an output terminal, a plurality of surge suppression units. The surge suppression units are serially mounted between the input terminal and the output terminal. Each surge suppression unit has at least one pair of parallel inductors and a plurality of surge absorption units respectively connected with one end of each of the pair of inductors. The pair of parallel inductors mounted in the surge suppression unit in a pre-stage and the surge suppression unit in a post-stage have different conductance values. Accordingly, the surge suppression optimization device connected in a path from which surges pass can significantly reduce energy of a surge flowing in and a residual surge voltage. The different conductance values of the surge suppression units in a pre-stage and a post-stage smoothen an intruding surge to secure better safety protection without abruptly generating a peak rise.

    • A rapid, highly reproducible and sensitive technique has been successfully developed for sexing the cow embryos, by method of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) against the amelogenin (bAML) genes located on both X- and Y-chromosomes of the Holstein dairy cattle. Results from DNA sequence analysis showed that there was only 45% homology between the intron 5 of AMLX and AMLY genes. Based on these sequences a pair of sex-specific primers, pbAML5XY(+) and pbAML5XY (-),were designed allowing to amplify a single fragment of 476-bp from the female cattle and two fragments of 476-bp and 341-bp from the male ones, respectively. The most important feature is that the precise sensitivity of sex-determination was confirmed to be reached as minimum template as trace amount of genomic DNA content in either a single lymphocyte or a single blastomere isolated from cow embryo at day-6 to day-7. Moreover, neither those of complicated procedures for purifying the DNA prior the PCR nor any extra pair of primers for serving as internal control is thought to be essential and the sex-determination of over hundred embryos can be completed at once within 4hrs.
