The method involves (a) preparing in a mixer (20) a predetermined quantity of a mixture containing a dry feedstuff and a diluting liquid with a predetermined concentration of the dry feedstuff; (b) delivering along a single duct (37) to the trough (9a, 9b, 9c) of each of the pens a quantity of the mixture obtained in (a), at a single concentration, dependent on the final amount of feedstuff to be prepared for each trough (9); and finally (c) diluting the mixture delivered in (b), in each trough (9), with the diluting liquid in order to obtain the final quantity of feedstuff having a predetermined concentration for each trough. This dilution is carried out by delivering the diluting liquid along the same duct (37) as used in (b) to deliver the mixture prepared in (a).

    • A design for multichannel systems for conveying a product by means of a carrier fluid is described, as well as means used in such systems, particularly switching valves for said product. The object of the invention is to provide a type of valve that is compatible with a tree-structure distribution system while minimising the likelihood of degradation of the conveyed product and reducing the manufacturing and maintenance costs of said system. The switching valve of the invention is of a type that has an inlet side comprising an inlet (51), and an outlet side comprising at least two outlets (52-54), said valve including a plug (47) moveable in a valve body (40) and capable of adopting at least as many positions as there are valve outlets. The valve plug (47) has a through bore (44) for selectively connecting the inlet with the outlet corresponding to the current position of the plug (47), wherein the valve is characterized in that the inlet of the bore extending through the plug is provided with means for attaching an upstream pipe (51) and in that said inlet side of the valve has an elongated passage (43) extending through the valve body and providing a clearance area for the displacement of the end of the upstream pipe (51) during changes in valve position. The invention has application chiefly, but not exclusively, to granulated feed distribution systems in fish breeding farms.
