    • A system and method are described for designing animated visualization interfaces depicting, at a supervisory level, manufacturing and process control information wherein graphical symbols in the visualization interfaces are associated with components of a process control/manufacturing information application. The system includes a graphical symbol library for maintaining a set of graphical symbol templates wherein the graphical symbol templates including a graphics definition including graphics and a reference to an application component type. The reference facilitates identifying candidate application components for creating an association between a graphical symbol instance created from a graphical symbol template and one of the candidate application components. The system also includes a graphical symbol design environment for selecting the graphical symbol template, specifying an application component corresponding to the component type, and creating an association between the graphical symbol instance and the specified application component.

    • This invention is directed to an optically-based method and system for analyte detection using solid phase immobilization, specific analyte labels adapted for signal generation and corresponding processes for the utilization thereof. The enumeration detection method disclosed herein narrows the area for signal observation, thus, improving detectable signal to background ratio. The system is comprised of a platform/support for immobilizing a sample stage having a labeled sample (analyte complex) bound thereto, a radiation source, an optical apparatus for generating and directing radiation at said sample and a means for data collection and analysis. Upon engagement of the system, the sample generates a signal capable of differentiation from background signal, both of which are collected and imaged with a signal detector that generated a sample image to a data processing apparatus. Said apparatus receives signal measurements and, in turn, enumerates individual binding events. Generated signal may be increased via selected mass enhancement. The invention, enumeration assay methodology detecting individual binding events, may be used, for example, in analyses to detect analyte or confirm results in both research, commercial and point of care applications.

    • Impact at a headpiece, for example a protective helmet, is characterized in part using an impact sensor including at least one acceleration switch positioned on the helmet. A microcontroller is configured to identify and store acceleration switch opening duration data based on the binary output values of the at least one acceleration switch. A processor at a portable electronic device receives the acceleration switch opening duration data and determines whether the experienced impact force is associated with an impact force magnitude that is within a predetermined head injury range of magnitude. An impact alert is generated when the impact force magnitude is within the predetermined head injury range of magnitude. In an embodiment, the portable electronic device displays a severity indication and an identifier of a person associated with the sensor that experienced impact.
