    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the suction capacity of a peristaltic pump by minimizing the heat generated due to friction between a pressuring element and a hose and the hysteresis thereof and providing a certain degree of rigidity to the hose.
      SOLUTION: This peristaltic pump 1 for circulation comprises an elastically deformable hose 4 placed against the pressuring surface 3. The hose has a medium inlet 6 and a medium outlet 7. The pressuring elements 9, 10 are moved along the hose. While the portions of the hose brought into contact with the pressuring elements are pressed against portions of the pressuring surface, the portions of the hose are locally compressed and closed. A medium is sucked therein through the medium inlet, and discharged therefrom through the medium outlet under a pressure. The pump has a hollow formed in the pump housing 2, and a boundary formed on the pressuring surface of the hollow. A pressuring means with the hose and the pressuring elements is stored in the hollow. The hollow is closed and filled up with a filling medium.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce pressure fluctuations in a peristaltic pump for circulating a medium, such as a liquid, a gas, a slurry, a granulate or a combination of two or more thereof.
      SOLUTION: The pump for circulating a medium comprises an elastically deformable hose which has a medium inlet and a medium outlet. Pressing elements move along the hose and press the hose against the pressing surface while locally compressing and closing the hose, whereby medium is drawn in via the medium inlet and discharged under pressure via the medium outlet. The pressing surface comprises: an infeed part connected to the medium inlet, the distance of which from the pressing elements decreases from a first value, at which the hose is open when a pressing element is present, to a second value at which the hose is locally closed by a pressing clement; an intermediate part with a distance from the pressing elements which is constant, this distance being equal to the second value; and an outfeed part, the distance of which from the pressing elements increases from the second value to the first value, and to which the medium outlet connects. The length of the outfeed part and/or of the infeed part has a value of between once and twice the distance between the pressing elements.
