摘要： A method and apparatus for obtaining location information for subscribers connected to an IP access network (300) , in order to enable supply of such location information in connection with emergency calls directed to a multimedia service network (302) . A request is received (3:1) at the multimedia service network from a subscriber (A) containing an IP address currently assigned to the subscriber. In response thereto, the multimedia service network sends a location query (3:2) including said IP address to the IP access network, which then can retrieve (3:3, 3:4) location information for the subscriber based on the IP address, by determining at which point of access in the IP access network the IP address is currently used. The IP access network then submits (3:5) the obtained location information to the multimedia service network in response to the location query.

摘要： The present invention relates to positioning in a communication network. In Long Term Evolution, LTE networks the positioning server E-SLMC needs routing information in order to communicate with individual base stations, eNodeBs. For LTE networks configured with one Mobility Management Entity, MME or one pool of MMEs, the routing information can be obtained by interrogating the MME or an arbitrary MME in the MME pool. However, if the network is configured with several MME pools serving different sets of eNodeBs, the E- SLMC has now knowledge of which MME or MME pool that is serving a certain eNodeB. The invention includes a method and a position server (111) configured to quickly determine which MME pool (120,130) is serving a certain eNodeB (141-153) so that the relevant routing information necessary for the positioning server (111) to communicate with the eNodeBs (141-153) is obtained.

摘要： In one aspect of the invention presented herein, a mobile terminal (24) requests positioning assistance data from its supporting wireless communication network (10), in response to receiving a positioning request from a positioning node (26). Further, in response to receiving the positioning assistance data from the network (10), the mobile terminal sends the positioning assistance data to the positioning node (26). In this manner, the positioning node (26) advantageously gains access to network-generated positioning assistance data without need for requesting it from the network (10). In at least one embodiment, the mobile terminal (24) receives the positioning request from the positioning node (26) over a User Plane (UP) connection. However, the mobile terminal (24) sends the positioning assistance data request to a base station (14-1) over a Control Plane (CP) connection, and receives the requested positioning assistance data via the CP. The terminal (24) transfers that data to the UP and sends it to the positioning node (26).

摘要： A method and apparatus for providing location information for subscribers connected to a packet-switched mobile access network (300) in connection with emergency calls made over a multimedia service network (308). An emergency request is received (3:1) at the multimedia service network from a subscriber (A) containing the calling number of the subscriber. In response thereto, a media gateway control function (310) in the multimedia service network sends a location query (3:3) including said calling number to a mobile positioning centre (304) in the mobile access network, which then can retrieve (3:4) location information for the subscriber. After receiving location information (3:5) from the mobile positioning centre, the media gateway control function selects an emergency centre (316) and sends (3:6) a location indication for the subscriber thereto in a circuit-switched control message for initiating an emergency call, according to prevailing standards.

The first radio network node (115) receives from a second radio network node (105, 110) a position measurement associated with a user equipment (110), and a system frame number. The system frame number is associated with the second radio network node (105, 110). The system frame number is further related to a point in time when the position measurement was performed. The first radio network node (115) calculates a position estimate of the position of the user equipment (110) based on the position measurement. The first radio network node (115) defines a time stamp which is based on the received system frame number. The first radio network node (115) then signals to a third radio network node (120) a positioning response. The positioning response comprises the position estimate and the time stamp.
