    • The present invention relates to a method of operating an ambience control system (10) comprising an ambience rendering system (14) configured to adapt the ambience in an area (16) so as to establish a current ambience state, a data storage (12) comprising data relating to occurrence of events and ambience states, each of the events being associated with a specific ambience state, and a processor configured to determine estimated time to next event based on the data relating to occurrence of events, provided that the next event relates to an ambience state different from the current ambience state the ambience rendering system (14) (10) being configured to gradually adapt the ambience in the area (16) to match the next ambient state, the method comprising determining current ambience state, determining estimated time to next event, and operating the area (16) ambience system (10) based on the estimated time to next event. The present invention further relates to an ambience control system (10) comprising a data storage (12) comprising data relating to occurrence of events and ambience states, the events being associated with a specific ambience state, an ambience rendering system (14) configured to adapt the ambience in an area (16) corresponding to the specific ambience state, a processor configured to determine estimated time to next event based on the data relating to occurrence of event, provided that the next event relates to an ambience state being different from the current ambience state the area ambience system being configured to gradually adapt the ambience in the area (16) to match the next ambient state.

    • A method is provided to control the lighting ambience in a space by means of a plurality of controllable light sources (16). The light from the light sources (16) is adapted dependent on a position of an object (20) such as a person in the space. Control comprises capturing an image of at least part of said space. From said image whether light from a selected one of the controllable light sources (16) to points in said space shown at respective image positions in said image has been intercepted by the object (20). This may involve image positions where the object casts a shadow or positions that show a surface on the object that is turned away from the light source (16). From the respective image positions where the light has been detected to be intercepted information indicative of a direction of the intercepting object relative to the selected one of the controllable light sources (16) is detected. Position information that indicates a position of the object (20) in said space is updated according to the direction determined from the respective image positions where the light has been detected to be intercepted. A lighting parameter setting of the controllable light sources (16) is adjusted dependent on the updated position information.

    • The present invention relates to a method of controlling a scene creation system (100), comprising the steps of providing (S1) a first and a second control feature, each of said first and second lighting control features having a predefined control range, selecting (S2) a first control parameter within the predefined control range of the first control feature, adjusting (S3) the predefined control range of the second control feature, selecting (S4) a second control parameter within the adjusted control range of the second control feature, and controlling (S5) the scene creation system (100), based on at least the first and the second control parameters, wherein the predefined control range of the second control feature is adjusted based on the first selected control parameter and a predefined scene selection rule. The invention allows for simplified creation of an appealing scene, such as a lighting scene, by guiding a user in making the "right" choice when creating the lighting scene.
