    • A method of easily consecutively manufacturing a layered structure with the same or different kinds of materials superposed in a plurality of layers, is attained by a simple mechanical method. The layered structure manufacturing method is embodied by use of a shaping apparatus having a unique construction. The shaping apparatus includes a plurality of irregular passageways disposed in a side-by-side relationship in the same direction, wherein sectional configurations of the irregular passageways continuously vary from inlets thereof toward outlets, and the irregular passageways are superposed on each other at the outlets. An apparatus body as a principal portion of the shaping apparatus may be constructed by connecting a plurality of elements in series, which are internally formed with the irregular passageways. Materials to be shaped, which exhibit a fluidity or plasticity, are fed into the inlets of the irregular passageways in the shaping apparatus. The shaped materials thereby flow to the outlets while the sectional configurations thereof are consecutively varied and, during this process, get confluent and diverge while flowing inside the irregular passageways.

    • A branching device to send out data received at an arbitrary one of three terminals thereof through the other two terminals. In the device, the terminals are coupled to each other by means of photo-couplers. The head of a data block received by each receiver connected with each terminal is detected, and after such detection of the head, a signal which specifies the length of the data block is generated. Thus, after communication data are received by way of an arbitrary one of the terminals, reception of communication data by way of the other two terminals is inhibited while transmission of the communication data is enabled in response to the signal specifying the data block detected.Since the transmission lines of the three directions are electrically isolated from each other by the photo-couplers, even when a failure of short-circuiting occurs at a main transmission line or a branch line or the like, communications are continued bypassing the location of the failure similarly as in the case of a failure of breaking of a wire.

    • A control module cluster unit which enables high-speed communication by restraining the effect of noise, for constituting a high-reliability vehicle control system including a plurality of control modules each having control functions modularized in accordance with control objects, such as ECU for engine control, ECU for ABS, etc. in conventional use, an input/output module, common modules, and communication modules collectively mounted in one casing are so constituted as to enable mutual communication through a common bus on a mother board. A signal inputted in the input/output module is distributed to each module requiring the input signal through the mother board. The control module cluster unit also has a temperature sensor for detecting casing temperature and a power source for powering each of the modules. When detected temperature is abnormally high, the power source shuts down less important parts of the control module cluster units.
