    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic dust collector which can suppress a deposition of scattering particles contained in discharged air to a wall surface, or the like of a downstream facility where treated air discharged from the electrostatic precipitator flows. SOLUTION: The electrostatic dust collector is equipped with a charge neutralization means for neutralizing a charge of charged particles contained in purified air discharged from the electrostatic dust collector of two-stage arrangement with a charged part and a dust collection part, and ionized air. In the electrostatic dust collector, a high alternating voltage is applied to an electrode of the dust collection part of the electrostatic dust collector, so as to suppress the charged particles collected in the dust collection part from exfoliating and rescattering, so as to suppress the deposition to the wall surface, or the like in the downstream facility.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic precipitator which does not require an extraction device of a large volume, is not clogged, hardly causes re-scattering of collected dust under a condition of a high speed air, exhibits a high dust-collecting performance and has little risk of a failure.SOLUTION: The electrostatic precipitator includes a tubular electrode 3 and a discharge electrode 2 arranged on a central part of the tubular electrode, wherein a voltage is applied between the tubular electrode 3 and the discharge electrode 2 while causing a gas containing particulate material to flow through an inner part of the tubular electrode 3, a corona discharge is generated and, thereby, the particulate material 5 in the gas containing the particulate material is removed. A large number of through-holes 3b for causing the particulate material to pass therethrough are formed in the tubular electrode 3, at the same time, the tubular electrode 3 is arranged in a tubular casing electrode 4 larger than the tubular electrode 3 and a potential having the same polarity as the tubular electrode 3 is applied to the casing electrode 4.
