    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic dust collector which can suppress a deposition of scattering particles contained in discharged air to a wall surface, or the like of a downstream facility where treated air discharged from the electrostatic precipitator flows. SOLUTION: The electrostatic dust collector is equipped with a charge neutralization means for neutralizing a charge of charged particles contained in purified air discharged from the electrostatic dust collector of two-stage arrangement with a charged part and a dust collection part, and ionized air.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact electric dust collector capable of preventing scattered particles contained in treated air being discharged therefrom from depositing and sticking onto a wall face or the like of a downstream facility without decreasing its dust collection efficiency.
      SOLUTION: The electric dust collector having a two stage structure is comprised of a charging section for charging particles floating in air by ionizing the air being supplied by means of corona discharge and a dust collection section for collecting the particles floating in the air charged in the above charging section using an electrode that forms a high electric field and adsorbs the particles. The above charging section is comprised of a cathode discharge part for performing cathodic discharge and an anode discharge part for performing anodic discharge each separately disposed therein. Each of the cathodically charged air and the anodically charged air charged in the cathode discharge part and the anode discharge part of the charging section respectively is separately sent to the dust collection section to be mixed with each other in the rear part thereof, whereby the charge of the cathodically charged particles and the charge of the anodically charged particles are bonded and neutralized.
