    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing high-nitrogen sintered alloy steel having excellent corrosion resistance and high strength using a metal powder injection molding process.
      SOLUTION: A metal nitride (in which, depending on the desired alloy components after sintering, one to several metal nitrides are mixed) as a nitrogen supply source and a thermoplastic binder necessary for metal powder injection molding are mixed with alloy powder (or iron powder), and they are kneaded to prepare a composition in which the alloy powder (or iron powder) and the metal nitride are uniformly mixed. A green molded body is formed using the composition as a raw-material compound by a metal powder injection molding machine, and the green molded body is degreased/sintered to manufacture the high-nitrogen sintered alloy steel of desired shape.
