摘要： An elastic roll member that can be suitably used in OA printers, facsimile machines and in the developing unit and the paper feed unit of an electronic copying machine comprises a shaft member having a circular cross section and an elastic member concentrically attached to the outer periphery of the shaft member. The shaft member is provided with a connecting member which is different in cross section from and larger in diameter than the shaft member along its longitudinal direction, so that by forcing the connecting member into a through-hole provided in the elastic member, the shaft member and the elastic member can be integrally combined. The elastic roll member can be manufactured with ease and at low cost as it requires no complicated adhesion process.

摘要： A composite friction feed roll includes one material which feeds fresh paper well and another material which reliably feeds paper which has passed through fusing and has oil on its imaged surface. Such a roll will feed deplex and fresh paper or inserts equally reliably. Suitable material combinations would be silicone rubber which handles fused copies with ease, but has limited life feeding fresh or virgin paper because it collects fibers from fresh paper, and isoprene which is long lived handling fresh paper, but is rapidly contaminated by fuser oil. In the steady state condition, silicone regions will be primarily active in feeding duplexed paper while the isoprene oil contaminated, while in the plain paper feeding case, isoprene regions will be primarily responsible for feeding while the silicone becomes paper debris contaminated.

摘要： A stainless steel roller for conveying a web has a surface prepared by blasting the surface of the roller with steel shot to create on the surface a deep texture with well rounded down features and sharp up features with peaks. The blasted surface is finished with a grinding action for removing the peaks to produce plateaus surrounded by interconnected channels. The interconnected channels of the surface allow air entrained between the roller surface and a web to be vented through the channels while the web is in contact with the roller.

摘要： Apparatus for counting the number of paper sheets has a pair of feed-out, or delivery, auxiliary rolls rotatably mounted at the bottom of a hopper for advancing paper sheets stacked in the hopper towards a payout rolls mounted adjacent the hopper outlet. Each auxiliary delivery roll has a frictional surface forming a portion of the roll periphery and a relatively slippery surface forming the remainder of the roll periphery. The frictional surface has a recessed peripheral zone, all points of which are spaced from the center of the roll by a distance less than that by which the periphery of a slippery surface, forming the remaining portion of the roll periphery, is spaced from the center of the roll. The paper sheets stacked in the hopper are moved vertically by the auxiliary rolls and advanced towards the payout roll with a larger force of friction by being contacted over a wider area by the frictional surface.

摘要： A transport system for cut sheet media has a first and second cylinder to form a nip, a support subsystem to transport edges of cut sheets having at least one image into and out of the nip, and an array of contact points on each cylinder to make contact with the cut sheets without marking the image. A wheel for a print medium transport system has an outer rim having a series of contact points, an inner hub supporting a means to accommodate a drive shaft, and an internal spring connecting the outer rim to the inner hub. A method of transporting cut sheets in a printing system forms a nip between at least one pair of cylinders, each cylinder having an array of contact points, guides a first edge of a cut sheet into the nip, and uses the arrays of contact points to transport the cut sheets through one of either a fusing or drying process.

摘要： A conveying roller pair disposed in a bleaching-fixing bath of a photographic printer is constituted of a flat roller and a projection roller. Plural roller pieces are fixed to a roller shaft of the projection roller. Plural projections are formed by coating molding on an outer peripheral surface of the roller piece. Each roller piece has a core with an approximately ring shape, and an elastic layer with plural projections. The core and the elastic layer are adhered through a primer layer. Accordingly, uniform adhesive strength is secured and slipping of the elastic layer on the core is prevented. Since the plural projections are arranged in a phase-coherent manner, contact condition and contact pressure between the sheet and the projection roller are kept constant. As a result, a skew of the sheet is prevented.
