摘要： In a dictionary image generating section, images of objects each belonging to any one of L categories are taken by a camera from predetermined M directions, a matching region of the object to be recognized is extracted from each of the object images, and dictionary images (N=L×M, n=1, 2, . . . , N) which are the representatives of combinations of direction and category are generated and stored together with the directions of the objects. When a test image is given, the degree of similarity r(n, X, Y) between an n-th dictionary image and the image region at the matching position (X, Y) in the test image is computed by a matching section. This matching process is repeated with the matching position (X, Y) and the number n of the dictionary image being varied, and the matching position (Xmax, Ymax) where the degree of similarity r(n) becomes the highest is detected.

摘要： An electrically operated steering apparatus for use on a motor vehicle has a cylindrical housing, an axially movable rack shaft disposed in the housing for steering steerable wheels coupled to the rack shaft, and an electric motor disposed in the cylindrical housing around the axially movable shaft for moving the axially movable shaft. A power supply for supplying electric energy to the electric motor is disposed outside of the cylindrical housing. A motor control circuit for generating a motor control signal based on a detected steering torque is disposed in the cylindrical housing. A motor driver circuit is disposed in the cylindrical housing for energizing the electric motor with the electric energy supplied from the power supply based on the motor control signal. An insert-molded board is disposed in the housing and electrically interconnecting the electric motor, the motor control circuit, and the motor driver circuit. The insert-molded board comprises electric conductors and a body of synthetic resin molded around the electric conductors.

摘要： A measuring and controlling system is provided which has a control function as well as a measurement function to perform the measurement and control of fluid amounts such as the flow rate, pressure, liquid level, weight and so on by itself in the same field. A pressure receiving unit is directly mounted on a pipe or a container, in which a fluid under measurement exists, in order to detect the temperature, differential pressure and static pressure of the fluid under measurement independently of each other. Means for storing the characteristic of fluids under measurement is provided such that the mass flow rate, weight and liquid level can be calculated. By providing the transmitter with the measurement and control functions, the measurement and control of fluid amounts such as flow rate, pressure, liquid level, weight and so on can be performed in a closed form, thereby making it possible to simplify a correction procedure for the static pressure and temperature, improve the responsibility, and enhance the control performance of the whole plant. Also, a measuring and controlling system can be realized which reduces a wiring amount for connecting with an upper level control unit.

摘要： A CRT-matrix type big screen display system having self-emitting type picture cells is provided with a deflection waveform as a sawtooth waveform and a deflection waveform in the other direction as a step deflection waveform crossing the picture cells. Inclination of the scanning line is eliminated so that fluctuations in display brightness thereto are avoided and a satisfactory picture display is achieved. Also in CRT-matrix type big-screen display systems, index elements or cells are provided between sets of primary color cells and in the scanning direction. At least at the start of the scanning operation, the index elements or cells are scanned and the positional information thereof is stored in a memory for use in processing a video signal to achieve a satisfactory picture display. Furthermore, prior to reproducing a picture, a photo pickup equipment is slidably moved across the big screen and positional information of primary color cells sensed thereby is stored in a memory, which positional information is used in processing a video signal so that a satisfactory picture is displayed.

摘要： An accelerometer having a movable electrode which is moved according to acceleration with respect to a fixed electrode disposed in opposition to the movable electrode. An output device generates an output voltage which is proportional to the acceleration by measuring a gap between the movable electrode and the fixed electrode. A pulse width modulator generates pulses, wherein a pulse width of the pulses is modulated according to the output voltage, and a feedback device feeds back an electrostatic force which is proportional to the pulse width of the pulses from the pulse modulator between the movable electrode and the fixed electrode. As the acceleration in the acceleration sensor is linearly detected, the acceleration sensor is easily adjusted.

摘要： A laser light flux is divided and synthesized so that its light intensity distribution is changed from a Gaussian distribution to a non-Gaussian distribution. When a laser light flux having a Gaussian distribution is irradiated onto a dividing prism, it is divided into a left part and a right part which are refracted right and left inversely from each other. When the right and left parts are incident on a synthesizing prism, they are refracted again and travel to be overlapped with each other on a recording medium. The light intensity distribution on a segment at the apex of the synthesizing prism is weaker at the central part and stronger at the peripheral part. This is because the light fluxes resulting from the division are inverted in their position so that the central part of the Gaussian distribution is separated left and right while the peripheral part with a weaker light intensity is centered.
