    • Disclosed is a impedance measuring apparatus which is easy to use, and which is guaranteed to be free of incorrect measurement caused by some joints appearing in the current flowing passage intervening between two selected body parts and by the indefinite length between two selected body parts. The measuring apparatus of the present invention limits the place of the body under measurement to “one body region”, i.e. a selected joint-to-joint body portion or joint-free body portion such as the forearm extending from the wrist to the elbow or the portion extending from the ankle to the knee, and comprises a housing having a contact surface to be applied to one selected body region; a first pair of measurement current supplying electrodes so placed on the contact surface that the one selected body region may be put in contact with the current electrodes; and a first pair of voltage measuring electrodes so placed on the contact surface between the pair of current electrodes that the one selected body region may be put in contact with the voltage electrodes.

    • A temperature sensing apparatus comprises a temperature sensor, a current measuring device and temperature detection circuit. The temperature sensor contains a thermal resistor that is disposed near a motor and outputs voltages acting to the thermal resistor. The current measuring device measures quantity of current that is applied to the motor. The temperature detection circuit detects temperature of the motor according to the output voltages from the temperature sensor. And, the temperature detection circuit judges whether a predetermined quantity of current is applied to the motor during a predetermined time. When the predetermined quantity of current is applied to the motor during the predetermined time, the temperature detection circuit compares a temperature detected by the current measuring device with a predetermined temperature. When the detected temperature is lower than the predetermined temperature, the temperature detection circuit decides a wire of the thermal resistor breaks.

    • An automatic document feeder, for conveying plural documents to an image reading section of a scanner includes; a first conveyer for separately conveying each of the plural documents from a document stack section to the scanner for reading an image on each of the plural documents at the scanner; a second conveyer for conveying the documents from the scanner to document reversing rollers, the document reversing rollers turning over the documents; a third conveyer for conveying the documents from the document reversing rollers to the scanner; and a document discharger for discharging the documents from the scanner to a document stack section of the apparatus. In the operation of the document feeder, while a first document is conveyed and turned over by one of the second conveyer, the document reversing rollers, and the third conveyer after a reading operation of the scanner to read an image on a first surface of the first document, a second document is started to be conveyed by the first conveyer; and when the first document is conveyed to the scanner so that an image on a second surface of the first document is read by the scanner, the second document is conveyed to a waiting position.

    • A sheet conveyer for conveying a sheet so that an image of a document is duplicated on both sides of the sheet by an image forming machine such as a photocopy machine. The sheet conveyer has; a first conveyance path for conveying the sheet to an image forming section of the image forming machine; a second conveyance path for conveying the sheet from the image forming section to a tray; the tray for holding the sheet; a third conveyance path for conveying the sheet from the tray to the image forming section; and, a pair of nip rollers, located at the vicinity of the tray, for holding the sheet conveyed through the second conveyance path, and forwarding the sheet into the third conveyance path; in which the sheet conveyance apparatus has a first mode that the sheet is forwarded into the third conveyance path by the nip rollers without being placed on the tray, and a second mode that the sheet is once placed on the tray and forwarded into the third conveyance path by the nip rollers.

    • A sheet feeding device having a tray on which a plurality of sheets are stacked, includes a feeder for feeding the stacked sheets through contact therewith, a separator provided downstream in the feeding direction of the feeder for separating sheets one by one from the stack of sheets and at least a pair of conveyance rollers provided downstream of the separator for conveying the separated sheet. A detector detects the size of the stacked sheets. A pressing device presses the sheets, and a contact pressure between the feeder and the sheets is adjustable. A sheet edge detector provided downstream of the separator detects an edge of each of the separated sheet, and respective drivers drive the feeder, the pressing device and the conveyance rollers. A controller controls the driver. A table in which a plurality of variable and selectable pressure forces appliable by the pressing device are set according to a detected sheet size. The controller controls the driver according to a set value of the table.
