    • The invention concerns a vacuum brake booster with an electromagnetic auxiliary control system, in particular for motor vehicle braking systems. The vacuum brake booster comprises: a booster housing (1) whose interior is divided by a movable inner wall (2) into a working chamber (3) and a vacuum chamber (4); a control housing (5) which can move with the movable wall in the axial direction of the booster housing and has a first sealing seat (8); a sealing body (17) disposed so that it can move axially in the control housing; a valve piston (11) which can be actuated via an actuating rod (7); a valve body (12) which is disposed so as to move axially on the valve piston, comprises a second sealing seat (13) and is pretensioned towards the sealing body (17); an electromagnet (21) which is provided in the control housing; and a reaction disc (19) of resilient material. The valve body can be moved away from the sealing body via the valve piston and/or the electromagnet. Reliable opening of the second sealing seat by the electromagnet is ensured irrespective of the booster ratio at the reaction disc, even when the braking pressure is high, in that provided between the reaction disc and the valve body are devices (24) which reduce a restoring force exerted by the reaction disc with respect to a restoring force which is effective when the actuating rod (7) actuates the valve piston (11) and is transmitted directly to the valve body, bypassing the valve piston.

    • The invention concerns a method of producing a plastics brake piston (2) having improved heat conductivity and greater resistance to heat. According to this method, the plastics piston (2) is undetachably provided with a pot-shaped metal insert (3) which is extrusion-coated in a simple manner with a suitable plastics compound using a spring collet (7) and moulding tools (4, 5). When the shaping process is terminated, the hardened plastics piston (2) with integral metal insert (3) is removed from the mould and delivered to the second process section of the production method, the tempering process, in order to define the desired mechanical properties of the plastics piston. The plastics piston is then removed from the production method as a finished part. In comparison with metal pistons, a plastics piston of this type has advantages with respect to production and weight. Its heat-sensitivity is considerably reduced as compared with other plastics pistons owing to the shape of the pot-shaped metal insert (3).

    • The invention concerns a method of improving the control behaviour of an anti-lock braking system, according to which method criteria for detecting a cornering situation and cornering direction are obtained from the vehicle wheel rotation behaviour.
