    • The invention provides a method of interleaving a source data stream using an interleaver pattern in a transmitter. A mother interleaver pattern and an interleaver parameter are accessed. The mother interleaver pattern is modified using said interleaver parameter. Then, the modified interleaver pattern is applied in the transmitter for interleaving the source data stream. The interleaver parameter used by the transmitter for modifying said mother interleaver pattern differs from the interleaver parameter used simultaneously by at least one other transmitter that transmits data at the same time on the same channel. The invention further provides a corresponding deinterleaving method. By decorrelating the interleaver processes in the different streams, the inter-stream interference is reduced.

    • The present invention relates a method and a decoder for decoding codewords, the decoding being performed as message passing on a graph representation of the code, e.g. on low density parity-check (LDPC) code, wherein for each non-zero entry in a parity check matrix, the message matrix elements of a first message matrix are initialized with data obtained from a demodulator, and the elements of a second message matrix are determined based on message matrix elements of said first message matrix. Further, a decoded codeword is reconstructed based on the data obtained from the demodulator and the matrix elements of the second matrix. Moreover the present invention relates to and to a communication system, a mobile terminal and a base station comprising the decoder. To reduce the influence of wrong information the decoding method uses subset of matrix elements from said first/second matrix for determining a matrix element of said second/first matrix, wherein the matrix elements of said subset fulfill a reliability criterion.

    • The present invention relates to a method for balancing the distribution of interference between radio cells in a wireless communication system comprising cells in which subcarrier blocks are used for communication. A number of adjacent cells build a cell cluster. To reduce the large average SIR variations without causing additional SIR estimation, measurement and calculation problem as introduced with power control the invention suggests to group subcarrier blocks into a plurality of subcarrier block sets in each cell of a cell cluster, to determine transmission power ranges for each of the cells of said cell cluster, and to assign transmission power ranges to the subcarrier block sets to perform TPC within the ranges.
