CONSTITUTION: In a travel method of a mobile robot by using A star algorithm, the total path is generated by using the map for displaying the entire internal structure. Plural temporary goals are predetermined and memorized in the calculated total path according to the selection condition. The present goal is predetermined according to proximity of the starting point among the temporary goals, and the path is generated by using A star algorithm. The local map is generated based on values from the sensor, and the travel path is generated. The path is generated repeatedly about the temporary goals to reach the final destination.

    • PURPOSE: A guide position checking method of an autonomic movement robot using a horizontal and vertical camera image and a photo detector sensor and an IR beacon is provided to inform the arrival to a destination accurately. CONSTITUTION: According to the method, a guide position of an autonomic movement robot is checked. A landmark in horizontal direction is recognized and stopped. A camera is rotated vertically and a ceiling image is captured. Image processing is performed as to the captured ceiling image. A background and an object is separated by performing thresholding. Several features of the object is obtained by performing labeling and then objects having an area above a fixed value are extracted. A weight center and a long axis of the object are set. Deviation between a center on an image plane and an object weight center is obtained, and an attitude value of the object is obtained using long axis information. Position is corrected by transferring the deviation and the attitude value to a robot controller.
