摘要： A device for storing elongated articles is provided. The elongated articles may include semi-rigid articles or string-like articles such as a string of lights. The device comprises a flared section and an elongated section, wherein the device is handheld and an elongated article can be fed through the flared section and through the elongated section such that the elongated article can be fed into packaging material as the elongated article exits the elongated section. The flared section has a hollow interior defining a first passageway, and the elongated section has a hollow interior defining a second passageway, wherein the first passageway communicates with the second passageway and the elongated section is longer than the flared section. In addition, the flared section and the elongated section are concentric and tubular. The elongated section has a first end and a second end, wherein the first end and the second end have substantially the same width. The flared section has a first end and a second end, wherein the second end has a larger width than the first end, and the second end of the elongated section adjoins the first end of the flared section. In addition, both ends of the device have a ridge that is substantially smooth, and each ridge is annular and concentric with their respective sections of the device. A system for storing elongated articles also is provided. The system comprises the device and packaging material, wherein the packaging material comprises an elongated sheath of non-rigid material. Further, a method for storing elongated articles also is provided.

摘要： An apparatus for automatically delivering placed and oriented pieces of meat to a netter for wrapping and netting is described, in which the placement and orientation of the meat pieces remains unchanged from initial placement until final wrapping and netting. The apparatus is a conveyor having a series of compartments in which the meat is placed and oriented. The conveyor is situated below the level of the breech of the feed tube to the netter, so that a compartment carried on said conveyor will be precisely aligned with the opening to the feed tube. A ram pushes the meat pieces out of the compartment and into the feed tube, without changing the placement or orientation of the meat pieces relative to each other. The netter wraps the meat pieces in a collagen film and encases the wrapped meat in a net for further processing.

The apparatus of the present invention includes a frame for supporting the various assemblies that comprise the apparatus and for engaging a support surface such as a floor. Further, the apparatus of the present invention includes a handle formation assembly for engaging the compressed cord of tubular covering and forming the compressed cord into a loop handle and a clipper device for engaging the handle formation assembly, and the engaged compressed cord of tubular covering and securing two clips to the cord, one to secure the bottom of the tubular covering for the previously processed food product, and one to secure the loop handle and for severing the compressed cord of tubular covering at a point disposed between the two securing clips.
