    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable composition for forming protective coating film free from drawbacks including cracking, debonding and yellowing under long-term use and excellent in weatherability, and to provide a coated article using the composition. SOLUTION: The curable composition comprises (A) a vinyl polymer where hydrolyzable silyl groups and/or SiOH groups and organic ultraviolet-absorbing groups are bound to the side chains, (B) an organic ultraviolet light absorber 500 or higher in molecular weight and 95% or greater in mass residue percentage when kept at 150°C for 24 h under opened state, and (C) an organosilicon compound having in the molecule a nitrogen atom and an alkoxysilyl group. This curable composition, because being markedly improved in light resistance, prevented from the ultraviolet light absorber's being washed away and used as a weatherability-rich binder, gives ultraviolet-absorbing coating film of high water resistance, high solvent resistance and high light resistance. When a weatherability-poor article is coated/cured with this curable composition, the discoloration and/or deterioration of the article is prevented and the article can be imparted with good weatherability.
