摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device with high durability capable of detecting abnormal temperature rise of a fixing member in a quick and accurate manner with a relatively simpler configuration than before, and an image forming apparatus including the fixing device.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes a fixing belt 121, a heater 123, a heat transfer suppressing member 128, and a temperature sensor 129; and the heat transfer suppressing member 128 is arranged between the heater 123 and the fixing belt 121 so that a heat transfer suppression area is located in the vicinity of a non-heat transfer suppression area. A position of the heat transfer suppressing member 128 is switched depending on a paper width such as a large paper width and a small paper width of recording paper by an actuator of the fixing device so as to change a position relative to the fixing belt in the heat transfer suppression area.

Pressure adjusting means 66 adjusts a flow rate of air to be supplied to the tip member 61 and the nozzle part 64, to adjust a gap between the fixing separation plate 43 and the fixing roller 34.
