摘要： Objects of the present invention are: to provide a water-absorbent resin which exhibits excellent balances between water absorption performances; and further to provide a process by which a water-absorbent resin having excellent absorption properties can be produced even if no hydrophilic organic solvent is used, or even if its amount is extremely reduced, when carrying out the surface-crosslinking treatment; and further to provide a water-absorbent resin optimum to absorbent articles such as diapers. As a means of achieving these objects, the process according to the present invention for production of the water-absorbent resin comprises: a step (1) of polymerizing a monomer component including an acid-group-containing unsaturated monomer as an essential component to thereby obtain a hydrogel polymer; a step (2) of drying and pulverizing the hydrogel polymer to thereby obtain a water-absorbent resin powder; a step (3) of adding a surface-crosslink-treating agent to the water-absorbent resin powder, wherein the surface-crosslink-treating agent includes a surface-crosslinking agent and water as essential components and has a hydrophilic organic solvent content of 0 to 10 mass % relative to the surface-crosslink-treating agent; and a step (4) of heating the resultant mixture to thereby carry out surface-crosslinking treatment; wherein a time of from the end of the step (3) till the beginning of the step (4) is within 5 minutes.

摘要： The present invention provides a production process by which a water-absorbent resin of excellent quality can be obtained at a low cost by reasonable steps in aqueous solution polymerization. The process for producing a water-absorbent resin comprises the step of polymerizing an aqueous solution of water-absorbent resin-forming monomers including acrylic acid and/or its sodium salt as major components, wherein: (1) the aqueous solution has a monomer component concentration of not less than 45 weight %; (2) the polymerization is carried out while water is evaporated so that the ratio (concentration ratio) between a solid component concentration in a hydropolymer as formed by the polymerization and a solid component concentration in the aqueous monomer solution will not be less than 1.10; and (3) the solid component concentration in the hydropolymer as formed by the polymerization is not more than 80 weight %.

摘要： The absorbent in accordance with the present invention is limited in at least two of the following requirements: ventilation resistance, absorbency under no load and/or under load, weight mean particle diameter, and water-soluble components. The absorbent exhibits a 24 g/g or more absorbency under a 2.0 kPa load and a 50 kPa·sec/m or less ventilation resistance under a 4.9 kPa load in a wet state. The absorbing product in accordance with the present invention is based on this absorbent and therefore exhibits improved ventilating properties when worn and relatively little wet back of water-based liquids, providing a further improved sense of comfort to users wearing the absorbing product.

The granulation is carried out by mixing a preheated aqueous liquid and a water-absorbent resin powder at a high speed or by supplying a water-absorbent resin powder downstream of an aqueous liquid with a continuous extrusion mixer.

摘要： A method according to the present invention for producing water absorbent resin powder is a method for producing water absorbent resin having a surface cross-linked structure, and includes: a polymerization step in which an unsaturated monomer aqueous solution is polymerized; a drying step in which a hydrogel cross-linked polymer obtained in the polymerization step is dried; a surface treatment step in which the hydrogel cross-linked polymer or a dried hydrogel cross-linked polymer is subjected to a surface treatment; and a sorting step, carried out after the drying step, in which a foreign matter included in a water absorbent resin is color-sorted from the water absorbent resin entirely or partially. As a result, it is possible to obtain a water absorbent resin which has high properties and is less likely to be colored. In this way, there is provided the water absorbent resin powder production method in which the color sorting technique is used to remove foreign matters from the water absorbent resin.

In one embodiment of the present invention, a process for producing a water-absorbent resin by polymerizing an acrylic acid composition including acrylic acid and/or its salt, the process includes: (a) the step of carrying out radical polymerization of the acrylic acid composition to form a hydrogel crosslinked polymer; and (b) the step of drying the hydrogel crosslinked polymer by application of heat, the acrylic acid composition having an unpolymerizable organic compound content of 1 to 1000 ppm by weight, wherein the unpolymerizable organic compound has a solubility parameter of (1.0 to 2.5)×104(Jm−3)1/2.

摘要： Provided is a method for producing a polyacrylic acid (salt)-based water absorbent resin, which is a convenient production method for a water absorbent resin for an absorbent suitable for practical use, the water absorbent resin having a reduced amount of residual monomers. Disclosed is a method for producing a polyacrylic acid (salt)-based water absorbent resin, the method comprising a polymerization step of polymerizing an aqueous monomer solution containing acrylic acid (salt) as a main component; a drying step of drying a water-containing gel-like crosslinked polymer obtained in the polymerization step; a surface crosslinking step of surface crosslinking the water absorbent resin under drying or the water absorbent resin which has been dried; and a packaging step of packaging the surface crosslinked water absorbent resin, wherein an iron content in the aqueous monomer solution in the polymerization step is 2 ppm (relative to the monomer(s)) or less, a moisture content of the water absorbent resin in the packaging step is 1% by weight or more, and the method further comprises, after the packaging step, a storage step of storing the packaged water absorbent resin for 3 days or longer.
