    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent positional accuracy of an optical fiber from degrading on account of a clearance between an optical fiber hole and the optical fiber.
      SOLUTION: This is a resin-made multifiber optical connector of a fitting pin hole alignment method, wherein fitting pin holes 7 are provided on both sides of a plurality of optical fiber holes 6 lined up in a row. The optical fibers 9 fixedly inserted into each optical fiber hole 6 are all brought into contact with the hole wall in a manner leaning in the same specific direction inside each optical fiber hole 6. In the Fig, all optical fibers 9 are pressed against the bottom of the optical fiber holes 6 and are fixedly adhered thereto in that state. The positional accuracy of all optical fibers 9 can be secured without being affected by a clearance c between the optical fiber hole 6 and the optical fiber 9.

In this connector main body 1, a blind hole 4 is provided into which an optical fiber 2 near its tip end is fixedly inserted. The optical fiber 2 in a part near the tip end is inserted into this blind hole 4, fixed and held with the tip end facing forward.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the positional precision of a guide pin hole from being deteriorated due to the movement of a sleeve upon resin injection.
      SOLUTION: In the molding method of optical ferrule, an optical ferrule made by forming the guide pin hole for the positioning by means of insert molding of a sleeve 9 is molded with resin. Therein, a die comprising upper die, lower die 12 and middle die is used. The middle die 13 has a sleeve support pin 17. Protruded parts 22 which are arranged proximately with a little gap between the under surface of the sleeve 9 supported by the support pin 17 and the protruded parts are disposed on the lower die 12. The sleeve 9 is supported in such a manner as to be hung by the support pin 17 as shown in Fig.(1) because of a clearance with the support pin 17. Therein, the upper surface of the protruded part 22 is opposed to the lower surface of the sleeve 9 with a narrow gap H. When resin is injected into the die, a pressure (resin pressure) due to the resin in a fluidized state is applied to the sleeve 9, however, the resin does not infiltrate to the narrow gap H on the lower surface side of the sleeve 9. As shown in Fig. (2), the resin pressure is not applied to the lower surface side of the sleeve 9, a vertically downward force F is applied to the sleeve 9 as a whole and, therefore, the sleeve 9 does not move when the resin is injected.
