摘要： A layer of tungsten nitride is deposited on the upper surface of a wafer. The deposition is performed by providing a gaseous mixture and providing energy to the gaseous mixture to form a plasma. The gaseous mixture includes a first gaseous composition containing tungsten and a second gaseous composition containing nitrogen and hydrogen. The second gaseous composition is one that does not have a gas phase reaction with the first gaseous composition to form tungsten nitride, unless energy is provided to the gaseous mixture. The first gaseous composition may be tungsten hexafluoride (WF6). The gaseous mixture may be infused with energy to form a plasma by providing it with energy from an rf signal. In the plasma, the nitrogen dissociates into nitrogen ions, and the tungsten separates from the fluorine. The nitrogen ions and tungsten then combine to form tungsten nitride (W2N), which deposits on the wafer's upper surface.

摘要： A window assembly for transmitting light into and from a vessel containing a high pressure, high temperature, highly reactive environment includes a truncated conical window which is substantially transparent to radiation, a truncated conical metal seal which circumferentially engages the window, and a case to which the window and the seal are secured. To facilitate automatic cleaning of the window, the surface of the window which is exposed to the high-pressure environment is seated substantially flush with the high-pressure surface of the case. By initially seating the window assembly by means of mechanical pressing, then subjecting the window assembly to a series of successively higher transient combustion pressures, a window assembly can be fabricated which can withstand prolonged service in a harsh environment such as that encountered in a large caliber artillery cannon or equivalent scientific and industrial applications.

The periodicity, which may be regular or random, provides a periodic variation in total phase change, which causes interference (thermal blooming) that disperses the radiation sufficiently to lower the intensity at the retinal spot below that which would cause damage. Eyeglasses with mutually perpendicular periodicity provide degraded vision of useful images while being protected from harmful radiation.

摘要： A radio frequency message apparatus for aiding ambulatory travel by handicapped persons such as blind individuals. The apparatus generally comprises a portable, radio frequency transceiver and a stationary, radio frequency base transceiver unit. The portable radio frequency transceiver is carried on the person of the handicapped individual and transmits a message request signal in response to manual activation of a transmit button thereon by the handicapped individual. The message request signal is received by the base transceiver, which causes the base transceiver to transmit a pre-recorded message signal back to the portable transceiver unit in radio frequency form. The message signal contains location identifying information such as the streets of an intersection at which the base unit is located. The portable transceiver has a limited transmission range of preferably about 20-50 feet to enable it to interrogate a single base transceiver unit located at an intersection within a metropolitan area or at a display/exhibit within a recreational facility such as a zoological park without accidentally interrogating base transceivers in the near vicinity of the desired base transceiver. In a preferred embodiment, an electronic compass is included within the portable transceiver to further aid a visually handicapped individual in orientating himself/herself with respect to North, South, East and Westerly directions.

The conductive pattern provides excellent EMI-RFI shielding and visual opacity properties without generating moire patterns. 摘要： A compact attic mounted solar heating pack assembly includes an enclosed sheet metal plenum fixedly hung by straps from the attic rafters at the apex of north and south facing roofing sections. An electric powered blower fixed to the plenum has an air inlet open to the attic interior below the south facing roof section. An air outlet of the blower opens directly to the plenum interior. A plurality of flexible ducts are coupled to respective air outlets within the plenum at one end with their opposite ends terminating in diffusers mountable within holes formed within the underlying ceiling for delivering air from the plenum chamber directly to the building interior below the attic floor. A first normally open cooling thermostat is mounted within the attic at the apex, beneath the south facing roof section. A plastic heat barrier is hung from the ridge pole and extends well elbow the plenum chamber to trap heated air within the section of the attic beneath the south facing wall. A second heating thermostat is mounted within the building interior below the ceiling and preferably on an interior partition wall and is series connected with the blower motor and the first attic mounted thermostat and connectable to a source of electrical current. The normally open thermostat closes when room heat is needed and the temperature in the attic is above 70 degrees to provide an effective independent supplementary heating unit for the building.
