    • A motor vehicle comprises two driven axles (5, 8), which are interconnected by an interaxle coupling (10) for transmitting a torque only when the halves of the coupling (10) rotate at different speeds and by a speed-changing transmission (9) connected in series with the coupling (10). A brake system (12 to 15) is provided for braking the wheels of both axles (5, 8). In order to ensure that the wheels of the driven rear axle (8) will not block before the wheels of the driven front axle (5), a pressure-setting controller (17) is adapted to control a brake pressure regulator (16) associated with the driven rear axle (8) and is responsive to a reversal of the direction in which torque is transmitted to and from the driven rear axle (8). During a transmission of torque from the driven rear axle (8) to the driven front axle (5), the pressure-setting controller (17) substantially reduces in dependence on the value of the torque being transmitted the pressure which is applied to brake the wheels of the driven rear axle (8) relative to the pressure which is applied to brake the wheels of the driven front axle (5).

    • A liquid friction coupling, which preferably constitutes a differential arranged in the shaft line between two driven axles of a vehicle, consists of a rotatable housing (1), which is filled with a viscous liquid, a shaft (2), which protrudes into the housing (1), and a number of interdigitating blades (5, 6). The blades (5) of one set are non-rotatably connected to the housing (1) and the blades (6) of the other set are non-rotatably connected to the shaft (2). The shaft (2) includes a cavity (4), which serves to receive liquid from the housing (1) and contains a spring-loaded slider (8). In order to effect an automatic control of the torque which can be transmitted during the starting period, the slider in the cavity (4) of the shaft constitutes a sliding valve member (8), which cooperates with slots or the like, which are formed in the shaft and lead into the housing (1). The sliding valve member (8) is adjustable in dependence on a performance variable, preferably in dependence on temperature.

    • A pistol comprises a substantially U-shaped magazine catch, which is slidably mounted in a track that extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the magazine. One leg of the magazine catch constitutes a pushpiece. The other leg of the magazine catch constitutes a locking member, which extends into a lateral slot of the magazine. A compression spring is provided, which extends along the track and holds the magazine catch in engagement with the magazine. To facilitate the alteration of the pistol from a condition for use by a right-handed person to a condition for use by a left-handed person, the track is provided in the detachable trigger guard and is open toward that surface of the trigger guard which adjoins the grip. The crosspiece of the magazine catch has a recess, which receives an abutment member, which is held in the track by stop noses against a movement along the track. The spring which acts on the pushpiece constituted by one leg of the magazine catch bears on the abutment member, which extends from the crosspiece as far as to the surface with which the trigger guard adjoins the grip. The latter has two slots for receiving the legs of the magazine catch.

    • Apparatus for controlling the quantity of fuel injected per shot or the beginning of fuel injection in a diesel engine comprises a control rod, which is adjustable by a stepping motor through the intermediary of a resiliently yieldable coupling. The control rod acts to control the injection pump or pumps. In order to provide a structurally simple apparatus which comprises a low-power stepping motor and to eliminate backlash between the cooperating elements of the apparatus, the shaft of the stepping motor carries a camwheel, which is indirectly engaged by the control rod, which is biased by a spring. The resiliently yieldable coupling can be coaxial with the camwheel and adapted to rotate as far as to stop only in one sense of rotation whereas the coupling is rigidly connected to the camwheel for a movement in the other sense of rotation. Alternatively, the coupling can consist of two coupling levers, which are adapted to be pivotally moved apart about a common axis from a position of rest, which is defined by a stop. One of said two coupling levers engages the cam of the camwheel, which is nonrotatably connected to the shaft of the stepping motor. The other of said coupling levers engages an abutment carried by the control rod.

    • A fuel-injecting pump for diesel engines comprises pump cylinders, which are associated with respective engine cylinders and enclose a pump piston, which is adapted to be driven by a camshaft.
