    • Over the air or radiated testing of an RF microelectronic or integrated circuit device under test (DUT) that has an integrated millimeter wave (mmw) antenna structure, is described. The antenna structure may have multiple elements in an array design that may be driven and/or sensed by integrated RF transmitter and/or receiver circuitry. An interface printed wiring board (e.g., a tester load board or a wafer probe card assembly) has formed in it a mmw radiation passage that is positioned to pass mmw radiation to and/or from the integrated antenna of the DUT. Test equipment may be conductively coupled to contact points of the interface board, to transmit and/or receive signals for testing of the DUT and/or provide dc power to the DUT. A test antenna is designed and positioned to receive and/or transmit mmw radiation through the passage, from and/or to the integrated DUT antenna. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

    • An apparatus, system and method for performing dispatch operations using a signal physical interface are disclosed. In one embodiment, the apparatus is for use in a wireless communication system for communicating with a wireless network and comprises a host processor, a transceiver, a physical interface coupling the host processor and the transceiver, and a memory accessible by the host processor and the transceiver to exchange information between the host processor and the transceiver. The transceiver is operable to store data in the memory for the host processor to send data to the host processor using the memory and asserts a control signal to the host processor to notify the host processor that the memory contains data for the host processor, and the host processor is operable to access the memory to obtain the data thereafter. The data is associated with a remote device in the wireless network and is stored as one or more packets at a first storage location in the memory with a first identifier identifying the remote device.

    • A method and apparatus for initializing a transceiver in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, a method for initializing a transceiver that is part of an apparatus for use in a wireless communication system for communicating with WirelessHD devices in a wireless network, where the apparatus comprises a host processor; a transceiver; a physical interface coupling the host processor and the transceiver; and a memory accessible by the host processor and the transceiver to exchange information between the host processor and the transceiver, the initialization method comprising resetting the transceiver by initializing internal hardware and software subsystems of the transceiver; after resetting the transceiver, the transceiver entering a configuration state to configure the transceiver; configuring the transceiver, such that the transceiver is configured as part of initialization; and after configuration, the transceiver entering a wait enable state during which the transceiver waits for its wireless interface to be enabled before wireless operation of the transceiver becomes active.
