    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for suppressing the formation of 3-hydroxy-α,4-dimethylstyrene having degradation smell originated from citral, a citrus flavor having suppressed 3-hydroxy-α,4-dimethylstyrene emitting degradation smell and foods and drinks containing the flavor. SOLUTION: The quality of a citrus flavor can be maintained over a long period by using a 3-hydroxy-α,4-dimethylstyrene formation suppressing agent containing one or more kinds of extracts of Eucommia ulmoides leaves, Isodon japonicus whole grass, Hibiscus sabdariffa calyx, Hypericum perforatum ground part, Litchi chinensis seed, Onagaraceae biennis seed, Psidium guajava leaf, Calendula officinalis flower and Rubus idaeus leaf.
