摘要： PURPOSE: To solve problems of conventional rocket lightning induction and laser lightning induction. CONSTITUTION: A rocket 2 is launched aiming at a thundercloud 4 from a launcher 3 in a rocket lightning-inducing device 100. The rocket 2 is equipped with fine powder, which is discharged little by little into the air starting just after the launch and diffuses gradually in the air. When the rocket 2 reaches the thundercloud, a laser beam 6 is transmitted from a laser transmitter 1 toward the fine powder 7. Because a YAG laser is used for the laser transmitter 1, the laser beam 6 is well absorbed in the fine powder 7 composed of graphite and therefore plasma is generated. Meanwhile, the propagating direction of the laser beam is changed by a reflecting mirror 5 which rotates during the laser transmission and the laser beam is laterally applied to the long-extending fine powder 7 in the air in such a manner that the powder may be scanned along its longitudinal direction.
