    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the various characteristics of a separated system after the power supply limitation is practiced when the system is separated, select the machine whose power supply is to be limited and maintain the characteristics, such as the frequency characteristics, etc., of the separated system properly after the power supply limitation is practiced. SOLUTION: A power system stabilizer is composed of a monitoring means 71 which monitors the outputs of a plurality of generators 4 in a separated system which is expected to be separated while the system is still in an ordinary state, a memory means 73 in which various constants related to the characteristics of the plurality of generators are stored and a power supply limiting means 72 which practices control for the stabilization of the separated system when the system is separated. When the machines whose power supplies are to be limited are selected in accordance with a power supply limit value calculated for the stabilization, the power supply limiting means 72 makes the summation of the outputs of the plurality of generators selected as control object candidates correspond to the power supply limit value and, further, performs the estimation operation of the various characteristics of the separated system after the power supplies to the control object candidates are limited to judge whether conditions are satisfied or not. If the conditions are satisfied, the plurality of generators which are the control object candidates are determined to be the objects of the power supply limitation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a power system monitoring device to select an assumed accident at a high speed in real time by reading the state data of a power system on an arbitrary time cross section and selecting an accident case which occurs in the power system, and then, calculating the selected accident case by simulation and outputting the calculated results. SOLUTION: The data of facilities in a power system 101 are processed in accordance with a prescribed format by means of a data reading device 102 and sent to a system information data base 103. The content of the data base 103 and data in an assumed accident data base 104 are sent to an assumed accident selecting device 105. The device 105 generates indexes indicating the grades of importance of assumed accidents in the base data 104 and taking the influences of the accidents into consideration when the accidents occur. The indexes are sent to a detailed calculating device 106 and calculated and the device 106 calculates detailed system information when the assumed accidents occur. The calculated results are sent to an output device 107 and the device 107 displays the information on the power system 101 when an occurs on an arbitrary time cross section.
