    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radioactive waste solidification method capable of keeping the soundness of a disposal site for a long time by suppressing or inhibiting production of gas from a solidified matter caused by radiolysis of a cement solidified matter of radioactive waste in the buried state and suppressing or inhibiting pressure rise within a storage vessel in the long term buried disposal state, and an apparatus for the same.
      SOLUTION: The radioactive waste solidification method is employed for solidifying radioactive waste, among radioactive waste which is produced from nuclear power facilities, having a radionuclide concentration high enough to cause radiolysis to produce gas in the buried disposal state, and comprises the solidified matter forming step of mixing the radioactive waste, hydraulic inorganic solidification material and aggregate before feeding the mixture into a storage vessel to form a solidified matter, the water removal step of curing the solidified matter in the storage vessel before removing water from the solidified matter in the storage vessel by heating and evacuation, and the storage vessel sealing step of applying a lid on the storage vessel to seal after the water removal step.
